We understand this was a lower-cost rental, and we did not expect everything to be perfect. That said, the condition of the house was more disappointing than we expected. When we arrived, the dishes and silverware were sticky and dirty, with food still on many pieces, and the fridge had half-eaten food left inside. The house was dusty, had unpleasant smells in several areas, and one bedroom had a strong cat urine smell. There were also spider webs and spiders in the kitchen. The kitchen was difficult to use safely. The stove was very old, one burner did not light properly and seemed to release gas, and the fire alarm went off repeatedly when we tried to cook. Because of this, we mostly avoided cooking inside and had to rely on nearby food options or a small camping-style grill. The bathroom and outdoor areas also had some issues. The shower was extremely small with very strong water pressure, and the outdoor shower area had a moldy mat, rusty nails, and splinters. Outside, only one of the four grills seemed usable, while the others were rusted through, including issues around the propane tank. We ended up using the small charcoal grill for all cooking because of the stove situation. The location was great and very convenient for walking to the beach and nearby breakfast spots. However, the cleanliness, smells, bugs, stove concerns, cramped/dark interior, and overall condition made the stay disappointing. We also made sure to leave the house cleaner than we found it.
