The condo was clean, comfortable, and accurately described in the listing, with a great location close to Boyne Mountain. However, there were several small but important details that detracted from our overall experience.There were no extra towels or washcloths provided in the bathroom, and the kitchen lacked basic essentials like salt, pepper, sugar, Saran Wrap, and even a kitchen washcloth. Only one kitchen hand towel was supplied for our entire stay, which was inconvenient.The welcome book could be improved significantly. It didn’t include instructions for operating the TV remotes or the heating/cooling unit, which led to a fair bit of fumbling to figure things out.Communication before arrival was also disappointing. When I asked the owner whether the property had a gated entrance with a code, I received a curt response directing me to their separate Happy Guest booking link which didn’t contain the answer. I was driving 7.5 hours and simply wanted a yes or no. A straightforward response would have been much more helpful.Additionally, there were guests in the upstairs unit smoking cigars on the balcony. While the smoke itself didn’t bother us, ashes and a cigar butt were left on the ground, which was concerning for a property listed as non-smoking.Overall, the condo itself met expectations and was as advertised, but some attention to basic amenities, clearer instructions, and more thoughtful communication would go a long way in improving the guest experience.
