What a fantastic place feel so relaxed after some time out from busy lives Absoultely stunning surrounds just what ya need for a cheeky couple of days 8 minutes from designer outlet on one road which is perfect also bus into York center literally on the front of hotel if like me and sometimes enjoy not driving this was a great thing Rooms are a little outdated but doesn’t effect your stay nice gastro pub next door food was loverly so always a plus will be returning

Been here before and it never disappoints. Great facilities, excellent staff and the food in The Fat Abbot is brilliant.

Lovely place to stay out of town and surrounded by beautiful gardens. There is a bus about 50m away that goes to York. Great place to stay and explore the area, then come home to an excellent spa and gym. Only grizzle is that the pillows weren’t great and I think if you’re staying there you should get a spa towel without paying for it! Make sure to book any spa treatment or restaurant early as they book out.

Beautiful hotel, very quiet and relaxing. The staff were very pleasant and helpful too. Not really much to dislike, although, a little shop on the premises would of been nice.

Would have given a 5* only we thought we were staying in the hotel, but we were above the pub really down fall to this was the music from the pub was loud inside the room. The spa facilities were clean and all the staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful, the food at the fat abott was really nice and reasonably priced, easy to get to York and designer outlet village was near to, we would visit here again

Lovely hotel. Our room was light airy and a good size with patio doors and a little outdoor space. Breakfast was nice & the added bonus of having a Spa & Pub in site was great!

Room was very clean cold as the heating was inoperative with drafts window frames, the room was also small and uncomfortable for two adults. On a better note the Spa and facilities were excellent.

Lovely spa But the bedroom was so dusty behind the bed stand and was not cleaned properly The reception staff were nice but not overly welcoming Bathroom shower fell down and no hot water in the bathroom I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone Very outdated and needs some upgrading

We stayed in room 28 the noise through the night was like a lawnmower every 20 mins, we asked staff what it was and everyone said no one else had mentioned it, it woke us up all night and staff were not really concerned when e told them. The hotel was nice breakfast lovely, Spa you have to pay for a towel, when we asked for extra towels in the hotel they said no, put our towel over the towel rail but the towel rail was not heated so still wet the next morning. Staff friendly would stay again but not in the room 28 building and would take own towels.
