Please be aware there is a nightclub up the street and people queue down the street laughing, shouting and singing but there was no violence or trouble.
We had this until about 2am on Wednesday and Thursday night (we only stayed from Tuesday to Friday)
Luckily we had some earplugs!
It would still not deter us from staying again due to the great location. We walked to the Jorvik Centre, Shambles, York Minster, Restaurants, Pubs, River Cruise and the Dungeons. All within about 1-5 mins walk.
Stays York were great and gave us all the info needed.
A nice touch was some tea bags, coffee and biscuits left in a welcome pack.
All crockery and cutlery you need and a microwave and toaster.
The only negatives besides the nightclub noise were :
There were cobwebs around all the spot lights (so had not been very well cleaned)
The bed mattress was not very deep so hit the base when first sat down on the bed also not the comfiest.
The bathroom had NIL shelves so had to set up the ironing board so there was somewhere to put the razor / makeup / hair brush / deoderant etc as no dressing table in the living area either.
There are double yellow lines on the street so no parking.
My Husband is disabled and uses an electric wheelchair so we parked on the street whist we unloaded. I then went to park the car in the Museum Castle car park which was a couple of minutes walk away. We parked there for free as we had a disabled badge and left it there for 3 days without any issue. We didn't need the car as everything was so close.
Please be aware a lot of the roads and paths in the area are very uneven or cobbles so not great for wheelchair or pushchair use.
