When we arrived, the property manager did not have our reservation. When we called the property manager number, no one answered the phone and I had to leave a voicemail message. Fortunately, the owner lives on the property and we were able to knock on his door and ask for assistance. It was a bit stressful but he made it right. He canceled other pending guests and offered to pay for our dinner while the property was made ready. We returned two hours later to find everything all set to go. Enjoyed the property. Beautiful quaint setting. Was fun to observe the farm animals. A few things would’ve made the property a little bit easier to live in. The kitchen is not terribly well-equipped. No serving dishes. The cupboards were filled with knickknacks, antiques and trinkets that were not useful, and there were only enough plates for six people. Refrigerator was dirty. We cleaned out a rotten egg and threw out a variety of other spoiled products from the prior renters. There are no trash cans in any of the bathrooms or bedrooms. They were no games, cards etc. to keep us entertained in the evening. One of the bedrooms have no dressers or a bedside table.
The stairs are typical for an old farmhouse, very steep. This should be articulated in the property description so that people with bad knees or those having difficulty with stairs would know about this in advance. All in all, these things were just mildly annoying. We made do and had a very lovely time.
