Summary:
Private pool, pond views, gardens, and a 10 minute drive to the beach! This home backs up to a nature preserve. Relax by the pool and tiki bar area watching TV or enjoying music.

Pool Heater: Our pool is open and maintained year round. The pool heater can reliably generate heat as long as the outside temperatures are above 50 degrees which will generally be from March to November, however in our area it is not unusual for us to have warm days at any time of year. Guest have access to the entire property except for the basement maintenance room and one owners closet.

Interaction with Guests:
We wont bother you during your stay but are always available. We do have vendors (pool maintenance, landscaping, etc) that may visit during daylight hours. We may need to come on property from time to time as well but would only be popping by outside or the basement storage area.

I wish there was an option for double stars on this review because that's what this property and owner deserves! Everything was absolutely perfect. The home, location and customer service are the BEST! Highly recommend! Can't wait for our next stay.

We had a lovely stay at the River Road Retreat. The home is well equipped with kitchen tools, pool accessories, toiletries and comfy beds. The use of the pool, hot tub, kayaks and large screened deck made for many great memories. Communication was fast and helpful with the hosts and the location was close to the beach and restaurants yet we felt like it was private and peaceful. We loved our stay here and are already discussing our return!

We had a wonderful stay. The beds are comfortable. The pool and hot tub were warm. We loved the large fireplace that provided much needed heat in the winter. My only suggestion is to leave some lights on upon arrival. It was pitch black when we arrived and it was very difficult to see anything. Both outside and inside was dark.

We enjoyed the home. It was in a good location yet felt like we were isolated from the city. The house was pleasantly appealing from the kidney shaped pool with a fireplace to the screened-in front porch. The landscaping was absolutely beautiful and the house was pet-friendly. I would recommend this house to anyone and would rent it again if I needed a place to stay.

We used this property as our family vacation house this year, its 9 of us in total and it was amazing .All of the rooms are so big , we had more than enough room . The home is very well maintained and extremely clean .The pool , out door tv and pond was a big hit. The heated pool was great for night swimming . My 4 year old grandson was in love with hot tub. Brandon ( the host) responded to every message i sent him extremely fast and even allowed us to check in at 1 since we arrived early . Its only 10 mins from the Ocean which was a huge plus. We will be staying here again . It is such a beautiful property, My husband said over and over how he would love to buy it.

Great stay at the River Road Retreat. We only stayed 2 nights, but it was a great experience. House was very nice and well kept on both the outside and inside. Wish we could’ve experienced it for longer! Great location and close to various beaches in the area. Overall a really good time. Would stay there again for sure.

Property was really nice in a very quiet neighborhood close to everything you need. Home appeared to have some recent interior updates. We really enjoyed the place. Grandsons loved the pool and kayaks. No luck with fishing but the grounds were beautiful and so peaceful. The one thing that would make it better would be an upstairs bathroom.

This is a beautiful property with perfect amenities and 10 minutes from Carolina Beach. It’s surrounded by the Cape Fear so lots of opportunity to kayak. It’s so nice we never wanted to leave. I wouldn’t mind visiting the same property every year!
