We (2 adults and 2 children) spent 6 nights in one of the cottages of this extraordinary hotel. The cottage was in spotless conditions. Air conditioning in the living room, fans in the other rooms, which may be disturbing if you do not like warm and humid conditions. The resort includes a wonderful pool and a simple but lovely restaurant. Great views no matter where you are in the estate.

Herrlich gelegene Anlage mit Cottages, die von der ganzen Insel hierher transportiert wurden. Am Eingang steht ein kleines Plakat: "hang loose". Dies trifft den Nagel auf den Kopf.

Sehr schönes Cottage in traumhafter Lage. Die Hotelanlage ist super gepflegt, weitläufig, einfach schön. Die Ausstattung ist nicht top aktuell, aber alles in Ordnung und sehr sauber. Jederzeit wieder :-)

Angenehme und ruhige Umgebung. Tolle Hotelanlage.
Wer "Ballermann" sucht, ist hier definitiv am falschen Ort. Waimea Plantation ist der ideale Ort um Ruhe zu suchen. Für uns war es paradiesisch. Schade nur, dass Kauai so weit entfernt ist von Europa, ansonsten würden wir mehr dorthin reisen und immer wieder eines dieser Cottages mieten.

Wir haben es sehr genossen, von dieser Unterkunft aus sogar zwei Mal in den Canyon fahren zu können, weil am ersten Tag alles im Nebel lag.

Relax pur!
Wer Ruhe und Individualität sucht, ist hier bestens aufgehoben. Die Ruhe wird zwar immer wieder vom zahlreichen Federvieh, das in Kauai frei herumläuft, unterbrochen. Das gehört jedoch zur Natur. Die Cottages sind geräumig, sauber und zweckmässig. Wer Badeferien sucht, ist hier eher fehl am Platz. Es gibt schönere Strände und der Swimmingpool hat ein bescheidenes Ausmass. Ebenfalls kein Ort für Surferfans. Hingegen idealer Ausgangspunkt zum Waimea "Grand Canyon" und für Bootsfahrten zur Na Pali Coast.

Hübsches Hotel in einer Plantagen-ähnlichen Anlage
Ganz nah am Meer, wobei der Strand nicht so schön ist. (Dunkler Sand, Anschwenngebiet von Holz, Schwimmen nicht empfohlen/verboten). Dabei ist es schön, den Sonnenuntergängen in einem der Stühle am Strand mit einem Drink zu beobachten. Schwimmbad ermöglicht schwimmen. Die Küchenausstattung ist gut bis sehr gut, wodurch man unabhängig ist von den doch recht teuren Restaurants. Liegt aber auch daran, dass der Euro gerade besonders ungünstig ist. Zwei große Gas BBQs stehen in der Nähe auf dem Gelände zur Verfügung und auf Wunsch erhält man einen BBQ Grill zur eigenen Nutzung an die persönliche Cottage. Der Ort Waimea ist klein, ein paar Geschäfte, Restaurants und ein Supermarkt. Nicht so turistisch, wie die Ost- und Nordseite der Insel, aber auch eine weniger üppige Vegetation. Mit Auto alles super gut erreichbar, alle Ausflugsziele innerhalb von < 2 Stunden auf dieser Insel erreichbar.

Der Aufenthalt in den Waimea Cottages war großartig. leider war das Meerwasser Braun und nicht sehr einladend. Ohne dies könnte man sagen, dass man sich im Paradies befindet.

Etwas abgewohnte (in die Jahre gekommene) Häuschen mit großer Küche und ausreichendem Schlafraum. Die Einfachheit wird jedoch durch die günstige Lage als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge im Süden und Westen der Insel wettgemacht (man gewinnt locker eine Stunde Fahrzeit). Die Position in der Google-Map stimmt nicht mit der Realität überein (durch Waimea durchfahren, am Ortsende links halten!)

I liked the spaciousness of our one bedroom cottage and the beauty of the grounds. There was only one air conditioner which is in the living area--not enough to cool down the entire cottage. There was, however, a large standing fan so between the two, it was fine. I wish the beach was swimmable--but I knew going in that it wasn't. Nice pool so that was good! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Free laundry facilities on the property really came in handy. Our porch had two chairs but only a small round end-type table. Many of the other cottages had tables large enough for dining which I would have preferred. Fridge was full size and plenty of pots & pans, utensils, etc. If you have coconut sensitively like me, bring your own amenities such as soap and shampoo. They did not have any alternatives. The pros of staying at the cottages far outweighed any of the cons. Would definitely return!

An outstanding spot for peace and quiet. The cottages are a taste of old Hawaii, but with all the amenities you could ask for. If I could give 6 stars, I would. You’ll DEFINITELY want a rental car to traverse around the island from this spot, unless you just want tranquility and paradise from your porch to the beach to the pool to hammock. Mahalo!

We were in cottage C - lucky, lucky us. Gorgeous 1930’s vibe, 2 large bedrooms and baths, a living room, dining room, and kitchen, and 2 porches. Homey and comfortable with striking up-close-and-personal view of the ocean. Our own private quiet beachfront. So peaceful, acknowledging the crowing of the roosters and crashing of the waves in the early am. Best part of our 2 week trip that included Maui and Big Island.

Beautiful and serene tropical getaway
The plantation along with the cottages are wonderful! The grounds are spacious and you don’t feel crowded at all. You can easily find private spots at any time of day. The cottages are rustic but clean and cozy, just what you would expect from a plantation house. That said, the air conditioning made for modern convenience throughout the day. Also, the bar with its tap area and bbq chicken from the restaurant were awesome. Like much of Kauai, this is a very quiet, laid back place. Just what you would expect for the area.

Beautiful setting on an old plantation, quaint, modest, clean cottages that could use some updating but are perfectly functional. Expansive lawn, beachfront property a short walk to town and any amenities. It's the quiet side of the island perfect for getting away from the traffic and crowds elsewhere yet close enough to any attractions. Pool is placed beachside on the property, a wonderful place to settle in for a swim and to lay in the sun and pour over your favorite reading material or take a pleasant nap as the trade winds blow. Magical.

It felt like home. Love how peaceful and quiet it was. It was a simplistic beauty and comfort that I look for when buying a home or looking for retirement options.

Cottages are set on beautiful, well kept grounds with waves rolling on to the beach. Everyone at the Waimea Plantation Cottages were warm and welcoming. There are spectacular trees and vegetation throughout the grounds.

Beautiful, expansive property directly on a black sand beach. The cottages are old but super functional and comfortable. The pool is super nice. We stayed at the end of October. I imagine if the accommodations are full the shared spaces might be bustling but while we were there it was quiet and peaceful. The restaurant/bar on site is convenient.
