Papa's hunting camp. One room cabin tucked in the middle of 250 acres of farmland. The deer love it here, and are well fed, foraging on the cotton, peanuts, and corn growing in the fields during the summer/fall. Snuggle up on the couch in the enclosed front porch to watch the sunrise. Or wrap up in a quilt to sit by the fire pit and gaze up at the clear night skies (catch up on your star gazing).
The cabin has a primitive set up with modern amenities like hot water, full bathroom, electricity, and kitchen. During the winter there are space heaters throughout to keep the small space nice and toasty, along with many quilts and pillows. If you like camping but don't like sleeping on the ground this is the type of rustic yet cozy setting for you.
The cabin overlooks a small pond in the middle of a pasture where cows pass by regularly to investigate and say hello, and the purple martens squawk form their gourds all summer. The area is fenced (barbed wire and electric) on all sides but may not be barrier proof for all pets or children. May-September: Small water trough soaking pool (300 gallons/2.5 feet deep) contains treated water and warmed by the sun. Great place to soak your cares away while you enjoy your favorite brew. Seats 3-4 adults comfortably and doubles as a splash pool for children.
Great space to escape to for peace, and to disconnect. Plenty of places to explore on the property and natural springs all around, dirt roads, trails, and nature. Feed the turtles or minnows in the pond and stream, see fox squirrels, deer, foxes, armadillos, catch tree frogs, and hear the coyotes howl at night. There is even a bobcat that makes its way through the area frequently, so keep your eyes out for tracks in the dirt/sand.
Lots of fields to explore and dirt roads to walk along looking for arrowheads. Or you could forage through the pasture and find blackberry bushes, mulberry trees, mushrooms, wild strawberries, citrons, honeysuckle, persimmon and pecan trees.
Great area for off roading and miles of dirt roads all through the area to ride down and explore in your car, atv, bike, or on horseback. Ocmulgee Wildlife Management Area and Flint River Wildlife Management Area are both a 30 min drive. Cold natural spring swimming hole about 13 miles away (Mock Spring), and a huge lake for fishing, boat rentals, and dining 15 miles away (Lake Blackshear). Ellis Brother's Pecans tourist spot is ~2 miles up the road with nut samples and all sorts of goodies.
