We stayed in the Grand Canal apartment. My husband and I feel so lucky to have found this rental through HomeAway. It is daunting to make decisions from 10,000 miles away (we live in Australia) but it was everything described and more. The apartment was perfect....in a great location, close to everything and yet located in a quiet neighborhood. The building itself was old and full of character, but the apartment was newly renovated using high quality materials, and incorporating touches like Murano glass chandeliers, and gold tiles in the bathroom.... The bed was very comfortable, the shower strong and hot, the heater welcome, the kitchen well outfitted, doors and location secure and safe....and the owner Fabio, very accommodating. We were greeted at the waterbus stop and brought to our location where everything on how appliances worked was explained to us. We cooked in most nights because being a couple of blocks from the fish and vegetable market, it was easy to pop down there and choose what fresh food we wanted for the evening. Local stores sold well priced wine. What more could we want?
Venice is full of tourists, even in November, but the apartment was out of the mainstream of visitors. My husband and I are both serious photographers and exploring the city with our cameras was a dream come true. Even the views out our windows were photo oppertunities!
We stayed for 3 weeks and wished it was longer. Thank you Fabio for the best holiday ever...
