The walls are paper thin. No security chain, bathroom needed recaulking around toilet and shower walls. Sink was not clean. Bathroom light/fan both noisy and dim. Curtains not completely light proof and no privacy when open. Pillows needed replacing. Sleep was difficult from tv noise in adjacent room.

Bath tub had mildew the wall area in the bath was drty shower curtain was dirty the bed linen was clean no bed bugs thank goodness i was driving all day and wanted somewhere to lay my head for the night.

Small family owned motel. Our room was very clean. You can tell they are working on getting things updated. Fridge and microwave in the room. No coffee pot (which was fine for us). I would recommend bringing your own toiletries.

It was not bad for an inexpensive motel and the property felt safe. Unfortunately the rooms needed some updates, especially the bathrooms. The beds are full size not queen like advertised, the blankets where clean but looked like they have many years of use on them and about half the lights where working.

First room had a strong sewer smell coming from the bathroom. Asked for a different room and told the clerk it smelled like a sewer. All he said was "I know". If he knew why did he rent the room? Second room was a little better, no sewer smell but didn't smell clean. The mattress was lumpy and was past its useful life by years. Pillows were flat and had no support. Towels were extra thin and were past their useful life and along with the mattress and pillows should have been replaced long ago. I could comment on the general condition of the room but that would take a book, not well maintained and looking extremely worn. Certainly not worth what I paid, I've seen better motels at half the price. Will avoid like the plague if I ever go to Troy, NC again preferring to stay in my car instead. BTW The other reviews must have been written by the motel owners. No one could give it a good rating if they actually stayed there.

You get what you pay for
The gentleman who booked us in was very friendly. We had booked a non-smoking room. Our non-smoking room smelled like smoke and the couch had cigarette burns also the comforter had a cigarette burn. There was a Fresh coat of paint. the couch that was in the room was disgusting. large stains all over it. although there was a coffee pot there were two of us in the room and we only got one cup and nothing to stir with. if you want to dry your hair bring your own hair dryer because they don't have any in the room. Got a little pouch of shampoo but no conditioner or anything else. I realized for the price we would not be staying at the Ritz. however after seeing people's reviews and quite a few people had said it was clean and they would recommend it we decided to give it a try. You get what you pay for. Thankfully we booked on hotels.com because reservations.com wanted to charge us an extra $20 a night because we got the last room.

What wonderful people! Truly such genuinlly nice people. They really went above and beyond to help us out while we escaped hurricane Florence. You can tell they are really putting alot of work into the place and it smelt soooo clean. Bed was comfortable. Very welcoming, I really canxt even tell you how wonderful these guys were! Thank you so very much!

For the money, this place is fantastic. We stayed here for a short hiking trip in the Uwharrie Forest, and it suited our needs just fine. Room is clean, bed is comfortable, and you won't find cheaper lodging. Negatives: The AC system is on the loud side, and the staff isn't very responsive (I couldn't find anyone to hand my key to when we checked out in the morning, for example.). But again, for a $60 motel you can't complain too much.

I found the property clean, and I felt safe there! The staff was super friendly, and handled everything I needed with care. It's a vintage property kept in very good order!! I've seen this property book full regularly. Because of that there rooms was clean and newly renovated.

Looks like it might be under new management- fresh paint over old, dingy fixtures. New TV, but really old carpet, linens, etc. Nice mini-fridge and microwave, but only two threadbare towels. Bed was comfortable but sagging with age. Truly better than sleeping in the car, but it's not where I would choose to stay again.
