Enjoy beaches and comfort in your vacation at spacious Starfish House. Fall is the best time of year, when the weather is perfect, the tourists are gone, and the beaches are empty. Located on a quiet street in the middle of town, you are only a few steps to everything the village offers, and best of all, three beaches and the forest. The large, light filled, and luxurious one bedroom home is beautifully appointed with a lifetime of curated art, literature, and antiques. Spacious and warm!
The bedroom faces the backyard and has a comfortable queen bed, high end bedding, plenty of storage, room darkening shades, and large windows. It adjoins the bath, which has a separate tile shower and tub. The living room features large windows, a wide selection of games, a Steinway piano with beautiful tone from the 1800s, two couches, table and chairs, and an extensive library. The walls of the house are filled with fine art. The kitchen has skylights, granite counters, gas stove, large bottom freezer refrigerator, small wood stove, a kitchen table with chairs, and of course, complete kitchen equipment and supplies. A separate laundry room is located off the kitchen. The front and back yard are fenced with table and chairs for outside dining. Starfish House has 1 gig Internet and smart TV with Hulu (including all the sports channels), Amazon Prime video, Discovery Plus, HBO, and TLC. Trinidad is a small town where you can relax. There is no need to even get in the car! Magnificent beach and forest walks, the pier, and tidepools are available just by strolling outside your front door. Mealtimes are easy, with four excellent restaurants a block away. But maybe you feel like walking over to the store (a block away) or Katy’s Smoke House for some freshly caught fish or crab to cook in the well equipped kitchen. For entertainment, several restaurants, Town Hall, and the winery (all located a block away) often have musical entertainment, while the museum, Marine Laboratory, and library are a quick stroll. Of course, if you feel like taking a short drive, Redwood National Park is only a half hour away, and Patick’s Point State beach is 10 minutes from Trinidad. Cal Poly Humboldt is 20 minutes away. Starfish is managed by Lynda Moran, who lives in town with her husband and children. Through her business, Trinidad Bay Vacation Rentals, she manages a small set of very best vacation homes and treats each of her visitors like her personal guests. With Starfish house, you don’t need to settle for a cramped cabin or corporate manager. Or a location anywhere other than the middle of Trinidad itself!

Enjoy Ocean Ave. A sweet small road that leads you directly to Trinidad Harbor overlook. We sit here for hours watching local crab fisherman bring up their catch of the day. Kayak adventures strolling along the shoreline. Local fisherman launching off shore in hopes of getting lucky rock fish, salmon, halibut, yum! Harbor seals, birds, whales, and otters all swimming around giving you that warm cozy feeling that nature exists and is happening right in front of you. There`s nothing more pleasing that the crisp fresh salty air filling your lungs with the cleanest air.
We walk everywhere in Trinidad, because everything is a virtually a stone throw away. Ride bikes, some skate from the top of town down to the harbor. Drive to Redwood National Forest, Lagoons, Roosevelt Elk, Big Lagoon and more.
At Starfish house you will have access to the whole house, minus the personal storage area right off of the kitchen area. The laundry room is available for your use. You may use the detergent that is there (if you use your own, please use only `natural` products because of the septic system.) Feel free to utilize the front and back yards during your stay. Our onsite emergency contact stays in a separate cottage in the back yard. He is exceptionally considerate of the privacy of our guests and will not intrude upon you in any way. However, he is close by in case of emergency. T The fireplace is non working. Sorry, no pets are allowed due to health concerns of the owner. No smoking allowed. Feel free to ask for recommendations of local hikes, restaurants, and beaches. Neighborhood highlights The Trinidad Harbor overlook, a block away, is the perfect spot to enjoy the sunset behind the waves, or watch the fishing boats, harbor seals, seabirds, and whales. In the morning, take a path down to one of the beaches for some beachcombing. Restaurants, coffee shop, store, museum, Marine lab, post office, winery and art galleries are all a few minutes walk from Starfish House. 1. Agreement. Trinidad Bay Vacation Rentals “TBVR” is the authorized agent for the owner of the “Premises”. TBVR agrees to rent the Premises to the “Guest” for the “Term”. Guest shall pay TBVR “Rent”. TBVR and Guest otherwise agree as follows: Guest is an adult of at least (25) years of age and will be an occupant of the Premises during the entire Term. Other occupants of the Premises will be family members, friends, responsible adults or children under direct adult supervision. People other than those in the Guest’s party set forth above may not stay overnight at the Premises without TBVR’s approval. Guest agrees to keep the Premises and all adjacent common areas clean and safe. No Large Parties Of Any Kind are permitted on the Premises. Use of the Premises in violation of the above requirements will result in immediate termination of this Agreement without refund of any Rent by TBVR, also subject to a $250 fine. Guest agrees that the Premises shall not be used for any illegal or unlawful purpose. Complaints from neighbors regarding excessive noise or other nuisances can be cause for immediate termination of this Agreement without refund of any Rent by TBVR.
2. Payment. Rent payment is preferred via credit card. A $50 Processing Fee is due upon booking and is non-refundable. Half of the Rent Total, at the 2 person rate, plus Security Deposit Protection Plan is due and will be charged at the time of booking. The remaining Rent balance plus fees and taxes is due and will be charged 30-days prior to your check-in date. TBVR will take and hold Guest’s credit card information on file. Provided that the Premises and all personal property located thereon and therein are in the same condition as when occupancy commenced and all terms of this Agreement are met, Guest’s credit card will not be charged. Please read the cancellation policy in section 17 below. Reservations made more than 30 days prior to check-in are not exempt from the cancellation policy. Guest agrees to accept liability for all damages caused to the Premises and adjacent common areas. Guest hereby authorizes TBVR to act in accordance of section 16 of this Agreement.
3. Pets. Pets are generally not allowed at the Premises; however some rentals are pet friendly. A $50 non-refundable pet fee will apply. Guest is required to clean up after their pets including pet hair and disposing of pet waste appropriately. If pet waste, stains or excessive hair is noted upon check-out inspection, Guest agrees to pay an additional $50 -$200 pet clean-up fee. If pet damage is evident such as, but not limited to, scratched floors, damaged furniture, etc., you must inform TBVR prior to Check-Out Inspection. If informed TBVR shall act in accordance of section 16 of this Agreement. Absolutely no cats, birds, or exotic animals are allowed.
4. Check-in. Check–in time is 3:00pm on your day of arrival. House alarms may be activated until just prior to check-in time, please call TBVR for the possibility of an early check-in. Lock box codes WILL NOT be issued with any Rent balance due or without signed rental agreement. Guest’s lock box code will be given to Guest verbally or by E-mail two (2) weeks prior to your check–in date. TBVR will call the phone number or E-mail provided by Guest two (2) weeks prior to the check-in date with lock box code information. Guest is required to speak with TBVR regarding lock box code. Lock box code will not be left on a phone answering machine. Feel free to call TBVR for lock box code information two (2) weeks prior to your check-in date.
5. Check –out. Check-out time is 11:00am on Guest’s day of departure. Please leave keys in lock box. Please call TBVR for the possibility of a late check-out, TBVR often has guests leaving and arriving the same day. A late check out fee of $50 per hr over check out time is applied for non-approved late check outs. A $35.00 fee will be charged for each lost key. The Premises has a check-out procedure posted inside. Please read, and follow the check-out directions prior to departure.
6. Cleaning/Carpet. The Premises will be inspected, cleaned and sanitized after your departure. Guest is required to leave the Premises in the same general condition as Guest received it by making sure dishes are washed, the used towels are put in the washing machine and the Premises are generally picked up and ready to be vacuumed, dusted and sanitized. If the Premises are left in an inadequate condition, and excessive cleaning is required, Guest agrees to pay a fee proportional to the extra time required to clean, at $40 per hour.

This is a great home right in the middle of town. We enjoyed walking to the little shops and to get groceries at the market. We enjoyed the large spaces in the home and everything was very comfortable. Great place to stay.

Very nice property, very pleasant stay. This is a private home. Is well stocked with everything needed. Furnishings for the most part are more antique than modern, but quite comfortable. Like most homes in damp shore climates there is a hint of mustiness to the interior air, mostly in the carpeted living room. Comfortable bed and bath. Kitchen well equipped and easily usable. Fine place to stay when visiting Trinidad!

My son and I enjoyed our stay at Starfish Ocean Ave. The location was great, being centrally located in Trinidad. No ocean view, but it was a short walk to the beach, the shops, museum, grocery store and places to eat. The house itself has a large living space and the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom are also spacious. The outdoor space was not as well maintained. Inside the house is a mix of old and new. The antique Steinway piano was a special treat. Overall a nice little house.
