Sehr laut und wenig Privatsphäre
Die Zimmer im Hotel Rambutan sind einfach und zweckmässig gestaltet. Leider war unser Zimmer zum Innenbereiche ausgerichtet (wie sehr viele andere auch), so dass andere Gäste ständig an unserem Zimmer vorbeiliefen. Um ein Mindestmass an Privatsphäre zu haben, hatten wir die Vorhänge natürlich stets zugezogen. Pool und das Restaurant Amati waren zudem nur durch eine kleine Mauer von unserem Zimmer getrennt. Bis um ca. 22h war es daher relativ laut. Insgesamt machte das Rambutan eher den Eindruck eines Hotels für Rucksacktouristen. Die Pizza im Restaurant war sehr gut.

Amazing accommodation
We loved our stay at the Rambutan. After we found the slightly hidden parking garage with the help of a staff member, we checked into our private room and then hit the bar for some drinks. Unfortunately, the kitchen closed at 9pm, so we had to head out for dinner. The hostel is located on one of the main roads, so finding food was easy. Our room was nice and clean, with a huge shower and a very comfy bed. This was probably one of the best hostels I ever stayed in.

Auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen
Wir waren 2 Nächte in dem Hostel und das in unterschiedlichen Zimmern. Insgesamt ist alles noch recht neu und das eine Doppelzimmer hatte eher die Ausstattung eines Hotelzimmers. Die Lage ist ebenfalls sehr zentral. Wir würden definitiv wiederkommen!

Extrem laute Musik aus der hoteleigenen Bar bis um vier Uhr morgens. Alle Zimmer befinden sich auf der gleichen Etage wie die Bar, Nachtruhe deshalb unmöglich.

We like: -Location We would also like to share with you our concerns: - It was very noisy in the complex in the evening. - The ramp leading to the underground parking lot is incorrectly constructed. As you go down, the bottom of the car touches the concrete ramp. (Right at the top of the ramp.) Can easily damage the bottom of some cars. My car is a Toyota Aurion and I experienced/heard a bang/noise from underneath the car. - The bathroom in the room we stayed in (from our observations) is also intended for disabled people. Unfortunately the angle of the bathroom floor was not done correctly and the water from the shower spilled over most of the floor and flowed very slowly into the drain.

Hi Janusz, thank you for your comments! The room that you have booked is an accessible room meaning it has disability access hence an accessible room. For the car park situation we this noted and will review for improvements.

Rambutan is my absolute go-to in Townsville. Lovely friendly staff, great amenities, super location, an upbeat vibe, a pool that has plenty of shade (yay!) and good options for food and drink without having to leave (read: poolside cocktails with great background music as well as a dining menu all at your fingertips). Casual, but delightful. Well appointed King rooms with enough space. I'll be back again for sure!

Really happy to have stayed at Rambutan. This is an area with plenty of bars and eateries in easy walking distance. The rooms where comfortable and recently updated and the pool/bar area is very nice. They also turn the music off/close the bar etc at a very reasonable time so you can enjoy the amenity without it being an annoyance in the room. Great staff and good value.

Stayed 2 nights at Rambutan Resort. Clean room with comfortable beds. Rooms are on rooftop level surrounding the pool which was nice and clean and lovely spot to relax. Restaurant also on this level, had a bit of noise at night, but closes at 10pm, so quiet after that. Not far to get to ferry wharf to visit Magnetic Island or to walk to other restaurants. Breakfast onsite was reasonable prices and tasty. Only issue we had was water leaking from the wall in 1 corner of the bathroom, from sink or air con maybe, couldn’t tell (only noticed on 2nd evening). Advised front desk when we checked out, so hopefully fixed by maintenance!

Very clean towels & bedding. Comfortable bed. Room small but more than adequate. Food very good value, basic in downstairs bar but not expensive. All meals we saw upstairs around pool looked very appetising - very busy with locals so couldn't get a table. Would recommend for short stay.

I really loved the convenience of having a pool, a room, and a restaurant all in one place, with the added bonus of a beautiful open view from the restaurant. It was so convenient that I didn't have to walk far or take a lift to find these facilities. Everything I needed was just five steps away, which is exactly what I was looking for. The reception staff went above and beyond to provide exceptional service and make their customers happy. They truly made a difference in my stay. The hotel was quiet, safe, and clean, with no disturbances from drunk people or any shouting or screaming. It was a perfect choice for solo travelers who value peace and tranquility. While it may not be a five-star hotel or resort, it offers a simple and comfortable experience. In fact, it may be the best option in town if you're looking for a hotel where everything is within easy reach from your room.

Staff are outstanding
The staff were absolutely amazing. Felt like we had the pool practically to ourselves the entire time. Eat every dinner in the poolside restaurant, with fresh generous sized meals. Great location, very short walk to the ferry terminal.

This place is amazing! An all in one place to stay, play and eat. Food and drinks are excellent with very friendly and helpful staff. The only negative for us was our room was next to the night club next door and the bathroom is tiny. We will definitely stay again it’s so convenient, especially with kids.
