Lovely Escape
Great place in a beautiful location. Plenty of room, nicely furnished, and easy to access. The only small knock is there is no A/C. It stays cool up in the mountains but it was warm the day we were there and it took well into the night to cool the place down. Small inconvenience, it wasn’t sweltering. Still recommend staying here.

Glad you enjoyed your visit. Indeed it has been as warm as it gets here at 9,400'. It is generally not an issue but without rain to cool things down admittedly it can take a while in the evenings to cool down into the 50's. Hope to see you back again.

Summer time is limited if any staff. Everything is closed at 5 and no staff on site, only a emergency # for someone 15 minutes away. No ice no laundry no vending machines during the summer and no AC....

So sorry to hear that your stay was not what you expected. We are very up front with the staffing situation in the summer and we do generally have staff on site 24 hours for any "after hours" needs. While our lock off (hotel) room do not have laundry or ice note that all of our condominiums do have full kitchens (with ice makers) and laundry facilities within the unit. And if you ask, we are happy to take care of any laundry and ice needs during your stay (but admittedly during our summer front desk hours of 9am to 5pm). Limiting our summer staffing needs allows us to keep our rates low and tends to work for the vast majority of our guests. We go out of our way to be sure that our guests are aware of our hours and to anticipate any needs they may have. So sorry it was not a good fit for you. All the best.

Awesome Taos weekend
Comfortable place to stay in Taos Ski Valley. Enjoyed the cool mountain air and proximity to Taos and it’s great food and museums. Can’t wait to go back!

Too many problems
The staff was outstanding and did all they could to assist us. Unfortunately, the furniture was uncomfortable, the throw pillows had a very unpleasant odor, we had to ask for balcony furniture, we were without water for several hours one day and then a bad storm hit and we were without power for almost 24 hours. We had to pack by flashlight and carry our luggage down four flights of stairs when we left. Thank goodness, Moe, the night manager was there to help us! The staff did "comp" us for one night due to the power outage.

We are so sorry that your stay was less than ideal and coincided with both a wide-spread and extended power outage from a severe storm in the area. We do our best to take care of our guests and the reduced personnel in the summer allows us to keep our prices lower during what is our off-season. We are are indeed in the mountains about 25-30 minutes from the town of Taos. We have had some guests reserve lodging with us at the Edelweiss under the impression that we are closer to Red River than we are. We are about 10 miles as the crow flies from Red River which seems to be the only way Expedia/Hotels.com can look at it, however the Edelweiss is located in Taos Ski Valley about a 45 minute drive from Red River. We have reported this issue to Expedia but they do not appear to be able to remedy it on our listing. We generally try to be sure that guests do not reserve a unit with us under the false impression that we are just "up the road" from Red River. Again I feel your experience was unusual however the extra effort from our staff you mention, is standard.
