Family fun getaway
We needed an interesting place to visit that was not a big city. We wanted a nice relaxing environment. St Genevieve and the 1801 House met our expectations. The hosts thought of everything their guests would need. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare meals. I will recommend this property to others.

Perfect!
Gorgeous, clean home in perfect location! Very nice touches though out. The pastries on arrival were delicious! Trolley for wineries picked us up right in front of the house. Walked to restaurants and shops. Beautiful home and beautiful neighborhood. Thank you would love to stay again!

Beautiful home for quick family getaway
The 1801 House is lovely—boasting a gourmet kitchen, great front porch, and a nice backyard replete with a table and chairs under a gazebo. The home is very clean and comfortable and there are many thoughtful touches throughout. Communication with the host was excellent. We enjoyed our stay!

This renovated old home is so comfortable. It has everything you need for pleasant stay. Walking distance to historical downtown. The only slight negative is the traffic. If you are there during the week, the school traffic is terrible. No late sleeping! We are early risers so it really didn’t bother us too much. Would stay there again!

Awesome place
We rented this house for a girls weekend and had a great time! This property is exactly as listed. It was clean, check in/out was easy, patio area was great for outside visiting and the house was decorated so cute. The hosts were very easy to work with and actually had 4 individual cakes waiting for us when we arrived. There were four of us and we were very comfortable and all agreed we would rent the property again. You will be pleased if you rent this property.

Great place to stay
I have stayed here twice and it's been wonderful both times. The house is beautiful, comfortable, and clean. It's also in a nice location (quiet neighborhood, close to the downtown area). The kitchen has everything we need for cooking at home. We also enjoy the complimentary treats from Pat's Pastries.

The perfect spot!
We loved everything about our stay! The house was beautifully decorated and just the right size for our group. We especially appreciated the toys, our almost two year old loved playing with them! This was also within walking distance to many locations we wanted to visit while in town for a wedding. We hope to stay here again in the future!

Great historic 1801 house and town !!!
We loved the history of the St Genevieve French colonial settlement the most ! Loved your 1801 historic house too ! Quaint town with unique shops, eateries and artful historic novelties. Try the chocolate cake at Audobons restaurant cause it is sooo good it melts in your mouth !

The house is old but you couldn’t tell that from the inside - it is clean and modern while maintaining the old charm with furnishings. The location is great - walking distance to historic sights as well as restaurants. Would definitely stay here again!

We had a great stay at the 1801 house. Host were great to communicate with and the hpuse was clean and comfortable. Beautiful country town setting. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area or getting away from the big city. Had everything we needed to cook and beds were comfortable. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Great for girls weekend!
The house was absolutely amazing — it was cozy and homey and had everything we needed and more! The location was great as we were able to walk to shops and restaurants. We did the Ste. Gen trolley (also highly recommend), and it picked us up right at the house and took us to the wineries and back. The house was so clean, and while it was too hot to be outside, the outside area was spacious and a really pretty area to hang out. I would definitely stay there again. A friend that was with me already has her husband looking at dates to book it for their family this fall! If you’re looking for a place to stay where you’ll feel like you’re at home but away from home — this is it!

💕 the property.
We were there to play games with friends. Property had all the things we were looking for -lg table for games, jacuzzi for one friend and shower with rain head for two others. Only thing missing was Kleenex. Old ladies need their Kleenex

Meeting in the Middle has never been better!

The 1801 house was perfect for us and our friends to stay at during our friends wedding weekend. The home was very cozy and had plenty of space. Wonderful stay!
Four friends and I stayed at the 1801 House and it was wonderful! There were champagne and desserts from a local bakery waiting for us when we checked in. We stayed in on the first night and cooked (the kitchen has everything you need with modern appliances, cookware, etc.), and enjoyed our meal on the back patio. The bedrooms were comfortable, and with 2.5 bathrooms we had plenty of space for getting ready. The Ste. Genevieve Trolley picked us up from the house, which was very convenient, and took us to several wineries. The house was very clean and inviting and the hosts definitely go the extra mile to make their guests feel welcome.

Wonderful Stay!
This was the perfect home for our stay. The hosts made our experience a wonderful one from start to finish. Great communication, "sweet" check-in surprise, and extra special care taken for our wellbeing. There were high winds and a tornado watch for the evening of our check-in, and the hosts made sure we knew what to do if we needed to take shelter. We felt very cared for. The home itself had everything we needed; ample space for all of us to spread out, three bathrooms- which really came in handy as we were all getting ready for a wedding, the large bedroom and separate bath downstairs was perfect for the family members with two young kids as it was separate from the main gathering space and gave them privacy. Just a wonderful, cozy space!! We highly recommend. ❤️

We loved this charming house
We came for a girls weekend to celebrate my mom's birthday, an annual trip we usually do in st. Michael's Maryland. We loved the charm of the house and how well stocked it was in the kitchen. We enjoyed the outdoor gazebo and played Jenga and had some wine. It was close to stores and restaurants. Only disappointment was that we thought the town was more riverside and there were lots of ladybugs in the front bedroom on the ceiling. We have already recommended this house to many friends and it was the highlight of our trip.

Dani, We're so glad you enjoyed staying in our home for your Mom's birthday celebration. Sorry you happened to have a few extra ladies (ladybugs) during your stay, as you know at times in our area there can be unexpected large populations of insects that can get in when doors are opened as guests bring in and out their things, I guess it was the ladybugs turn to see our home with you 😆. This was remedied and the ladies were all provided with alternative housing and will no longer be staying with our guests. We will be on the look out for stow aways for our future guests. Celebrating Our 45th Wedding Anniversary
The 1801 house exceeded our expectations for celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary. The layout of the house was great for us and our son and his family. The kitchen was very well equipped and we thoroughly enjoyed all the modern touches done to this home while maintaining the uniqueness of this historical house. Beautiful Guest House
This home has been beautifully updated with high-end kitchen and baths, but the charm of the old house remains. The owners have made this a very comfortable guest house and have thought of some of the little things guests will appreciate not having to remember to bring small amount of: coffee, dish detergent, spices, napkins, etc, and the kitchen is well-stocked with cookware and dishes. The location is great being only 3 short blocks to the historic street with shops and restaurants. There is a nice patio in the back yard; the front porch has ceiling fans and a ring doorbell. Check-in was easy with keypad entry. This guest house is a great choice for a relaxing stay in Ste Genevieve.
