Was probably the best place to stay in Stanley however the sheets had stains on them, shower was dirty and the hash browns at breakfast were cold every morning.

This is a very nice property but if you work in the area you need to know that you are not held in high regard and staff will come banging at your door to have you leave even before checkout time to make sure they have room for their convention. I completely understand needing to prepare for such an event, I do not understand the need for rudeness and a complete lack of respect.

The manager of this property is very helpful and polite. The coffee is very good and breakfast is satisfactory. The bar is under staffed and most of the time i have been there it has been closed. Some of the air conditioners make noise while you are trying to sleep.

This property has alot of potential but has a lack up upkeep. Upon arriving at the property to check in their were signs on the automatic doors saying they werent working and you had to pull them open and push them shut. After talking with the lady at the front desk apparently they have been like that for over a year. Then I find the key encoder wasn't working so everytime we got back to the hotel we had to get someone from the front desk to let us in which was a big inconvenience. After getting into the room and taking a look at everything I wasn't impressed to say the least. The glass shower door was hanging on by 1 screw as the top hinge was just hanging there. It sounded like the condensor in the fridge was going out as it was terribly loud. Also the room as a whole was just dirty. There was hair on the floor in the bathroom and in the shower, the carpet wasn't throughly vacuumed as there was stuff between the couch and bed that was missed along with under the desk area. Also the latch on the main door was broken. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and she gets an A . But I don't see us staying at that place again I will drive the extra 40 miles or so to Minot.

We got to the hotel and the clerk said that she canceled our room with Expedia and had to pay the hotels price if we wanted to stay. Clerk was very rude and I accommodating. Ended up walking out.

They gave me a handicap room on the bottom floor next to the back door. Back outside door was never locked. My room was dirty and I complained. The end table between the beds smelled like pee and they came and said the same thing. I always wipe things off when I stay and the clorox wipes were filthy. I took a picture and showed them. There was a place for a dishwasher but didn't have any and there was no soap to wash the dishes. Window was all finger printed and the door was full of mud. Also had to yank on it in order for it to close. Worst room I've ever had. I complained but they said only Expedia can handle it. Also had a friend look at it and she said it was a terrible room.

The friendly gal at the front desk made our stay most pleasant! Our first room had a bathroom door that would not close but she quickly moved us to another room and the bathroom door closed with a luttle tug!

Excellent choice for the Stanley area! After hitting wildlife refuges in the area and heading to Theodore Roosevelt, Mainstays was perfect. Our room was very clean and the stay was quiet. Would definitely stay again.

Excellent Hotel in a Small Town!
Our expectations were low for a hotel in the small town of Stanley (pop. 2,500). MainStay far exceeded our expectations! The staff was friendly, hard-working, and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Guest laundry is free. Good breakfast. Fair price. We'd definitely stay here, if we visit this area again.

Clean and Comfortable
This facility was convenient and clean. The staff was friendly and the room was in excellent condition and had a sweet little kitchenette. I learned to buy my snacks before arriving though, as their snacks were crazy expensive. No one forced me to pay $2.50 for that tiny bag of M&Ms, though, and the young attendant handled my whining with professionalism.

Clean facility (room and common areas) and grounds were well maintained however the staff made the stay uncomfortable. Front desk employees were unfamiliar with the computer system and tried to charge me twice during my stay. It went as far as the front desk arguing that I hadn’t paid when in fact I had, recipe was proof. The continental breakfast was good but the host was very rude. There was a sign posted in the dining room area that stated “only two portions per person (Saturday/Sunday morning).” However, Monday morning the sign was taken down. Come to find out there was an Native American event going on over the weekend and there were families from the event stay at the hotel. Whether this was the staff intention or not we felt this was uncalled for. We were not the only patrons that took notice and it made things uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel. P.S. Expedia has been my go to for reserving rooms and up to this point in time Expedia has been spot on with their recommendations (star ratings). I will continue to utilize Expedia has a trusted company for my future travel arrangements. This hotel is not necessarily a reflection of Expedia but hopefully the hotel will train their employees better with not only customer service but also their computer system.

Due to hotels not being available in the town I visited, I stayed here. Conveniently located off the road, it’s clean but a little dated. They don’t daily cleaning. They offer “lite” service that you have to ask for. Overall, the stay was okay.

The room is very nice. The only thing is it did smell like cigarettes and i found ashes in the bathroom on one of the drawers ledge. there was also hair in that same drawer. other than that the room was clean.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was courteous and friendly. The beds were clean and comfortable with service daily. The food was good with prompt and friendly service. Elevator was slow but wasn’t a big deal. Parking was sufficiently close to all entrances.
