„The lady who checked in was so lovely, even took us to our room. Every member of staff asks if you need help finding anything and direct you to were you need to be. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast included in the room stay was 10/10.“

„Room was clean but very cold couldn’t get the underfloor heating to work Breakfast was disappointing plate was oily eggs were overcooked beans were cold as if the were straight out of the tin as was the mushroom and tomato sausages ,bacon ,black pudding and hash brown were lukewarm and didn’t come with toast or fried bread“

„Every time I travel back north I stay at this place as it's friendly, has what you need and more-aka the restaurant next door and nearby to bigger shops too“

„This was a very old historical building in as good of a shape as it could be. Some uneven floors and a lot of steps to get to your room. It was small and quiet charming. The staff was pleasant and helpful. A bus stop was right out the side. Very pleasant. The bed was nice, no air conditioning, but it was fairly cool when we went in August, 2026. They had a fan. We are from Florida so the low 70's was a joy for us for August.“

„Friendly welcome. Efficient check-in at the bar. Spotlessly clean bedding and towels. Comfy bed. Bathroom clean but in need of refurb (eg tile grout/ sealant).“

„Great place and pleasant staff. Would and will stay again.“

„Quirky rooms but very unclean, tv was like watching a tv from 2010 terrible quality.“

„Sehr freundliches Personal, gepflegte Unterkunft, sehr gutes Essen im Pub.“

„Besuch von Hadrian's Wall und andere roemische Ausgrabungen.“

„Amazing hosts. Super helpful.“

„Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Great, helpful staff. Close to bus station, restaurants, stores, boutiques, and four-FOUR charity shops! :) (Parking is confusing, however. Park in the nearby city lot in a space with WHITE borders-otherwise you may have to pay.)“

„A warm welcome to the recently refurbished coach house. The adjoined pub offered tasty food. With a freshly cooked breakfast we were ready to enjoy the stunning countryside surrounding this delightful village.“

„Meine Buchung wurde nicht erkannt. Ich sollte noch einmal bezahlen. Die Info zur Buchung war noch nicht angekommen. Obwohl ich schon seit 14 Tagen an Expedia bezahlt hatte.“
