This was the perfect spot for our vacation. We walked into town every day and had delicious meals on site at the restaurant. Christina was the best and went above and beyond at making us feel at home! The chefs Christin and Jason are so talented and we ate some of the best food on the island there! We loved the staff!!! The rooms are comfortable and clean.

Property is a walkable distance to shops and restaurants. There’s even a restaurant on property which is convenient. It was nice that they had beach chairs and noodles available for people to take and return. Bathroom was a little dated. Great customer service throughout. Check in and check out process was convenient and efficient.

Perfect location. Walkable from the ferry (recommend duffel over rolling suitcase). Breakfast is affordable and great.

We loved our stay at Tamarind. It was a last minute reservation and we expected the worst. But it turned out great. While there was no daily room cleaning they did refresh towels mid week. Location is very walkable to the town and fun restaurant at the hotel. Many fun things to do close by.

Walkways need some work and getting in and out of the parking lot was horrible. But everything was clean. They are trying as they recover from the hurricanes.

Great location , close to bars, market, taxies, ferry. Enjoyed my stay. Love the beaches and the national park. I plan on staying there again. I had a single room with a shared bath. Very reasonable priced and met some interesting people. 2 baths for 6 rooms. Outside Restaurant and bar on the property. Their was a soft sided cooler in the room i used to take beer, water and fruit to the beach and i got ice from the Restaurant and i tipped them.

Updated rooms and very clean. Excellent reasonably priced restaurant on the property- good food. Free small breakfast to guests that was great (fruit and a sweet bread, coffee or tea). Within walking distance to most things in Cruz Bay but far enough away from most of the bad traffic. Friendly staff. Only negatives were the free roaming roosters that woke us up every morning between 4-5 am. But they have no control over that. Although there was free parking, there weren’t very many spaces. But we always got a spot. Beach towels and chairs provided. Price was quite high but most everything was on the island.

They provided lots of extras, sunscreen lotion, ointment for sunburn, fully stocked kitchenette, maps and info of the area. Suite was very large and comfortable, except the bathroom, which barely had room to turn around in.

The staff was very friendly, the room was very clean. The outside of the facility was very run down, does not look like the photo in the ad. Anywhere there was concrete or stone, it was in need of paint and repair. The room was simple and spare, but very clean. Was at times noisy due to being right on a very busy street. The location was convenient to walking downtown and the National Park. No places to sit outside unless it was when guests were not eating, then you could use the tables in the little courtyard. The food was good and reasonable. We only stayed there to be able to walk to the National Park and not rent a car. If you are not expecting a resort or luxury accommodations, it would be fine for a few days. You need transportation to get to the beaches, unless you are a good walker.

Couldn't have been happier with this modest property. No frills room, with great staff for support. Food was excellent, the restaurant/bar hours were a bit limited, but there are plenty of other options in the area. Really enjoyed the local vibe.

Need cleaning
In my hotel room, I noticed dust on the furniture and the floor wasn't clean, requiring me to tidy up. Additionally, there was a persistent, unpleasant, humid smell that made it difficult to breathe initially. I had to refresh the room for a day to make it more tolerable, suspecting the issue might be related to the air conditioning.

Local inn
Tamarind inn reflex the island of Saint Johns, with its laid back feel, Enjoyed the breakfast in the court yard. Located in town so easy to walk from Ferry docs or to restaurants or shops. Also has parking for those with a car.

We spent four lovely days at the Tamarind Court If your looking for a chill vibe this location definitely for you. The rooms are newly renovated clean and comfortable. The restaurant food was really good and reasonable for St John’s prices, the staff was friendly and very helpful. The location is perfect if you choose not to rent a car it being a short walk from the ferry dock. We choose to rent from the airport on St Thomas parking is free.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The Inn offers many things most places do not: a small cooler in each room, beach chairs to borrow. The room only comes with a bar of soap for hand washing. However, our room had a few items presumably left behind by other guests: shampoo, sunscreen, sun burn relief gel. Given how expensive things are on the island, we took full advantage of these items and contributed a can of bug spray we purchased. The most helpful part of our experience were the emails we received from the hotel in advance. One email included step by step instructions for how to get from the St. Thomas airport to the inn (where to find a taxi, the ferry, walking instructions from the dock). We did have a rental car and we were able to park behind the Inn when we needed. All of the sights of Cruz Bay were within an easy walk.

Very small place but it was well maintained. Everyone was very friendly and helpful with anything you needed. Very easy walk down to Cruz Bay. Wonderful little restaurant on site that had excellent food. Will stay there again when we go back.

The Inn is a couple walkable blocks from the ferry. I was able to walk to the shopping areas, restaurants and grocery stores. The taxis are everywhere and you really don’t need to rent a car. The Inn restaurant has amazing Mexican food. The room was very comfortable with appropriate furnishings to store clothing and gear. Has a small refrigerator, TV, windows AC, ceiling fan and portable ice chest, etc. The grounds and common areas stay extremely clean and maintained. It was cool seeing iguanas around the property. I would definitely stay here again. Host sends out very detailed instructions and information and the room had a lot of information about the island including maps. Very easy check in and out. Great place to stay. Thanks for an amazing and peaceful stay.
