Terrible bed mattress, too soft and saggy. Had backache next day. Wasp in the room. No one apparently checked. Had to kill the wasp with a pillow. No one at the desk during check in or check out. Had to call and wait for someone to show up. Room was up steep steps.

No one to check us in, paper thin walls with psychotic neighbors, sheets had dozens of holes in them, NO bars, cafes, or restaurants open, parking lot a sheet of ice & a death trap to get to rhe front door, super steep & narrow stairs up to room. Woest stay of my life & I travel a LOT!

The location is great for walking around downtown. Close to shops, restaurants and a quick drive to the beach. I came here off season and it was chilly but during the summer you could easily ride a bike over to the beach. The room was clean, comfortable and very Hamptons feeling. Parking on site which was nice and I highly recommend the coffee shop on the corner. During the summer sitting on the big front porch would be nice. The water in the shower was a bit tricky to get the right temp but I loved the soaps. Definitely would stay here again.

Our room was clean and cozy. The location is great - easy to walk into town. Not great if you need it to be accessible - lots of stairs and no elevator. There isn’t a lobby - it is a converted house. I would definitely stay there again.

The property was nice but many of the details were not up to par for this price point. Bathroom door handle was loose. Shower handle was falling off. Hot water only worked on cold setting. It was just ok.

Hamptons-expensive, but good.
Even though I was on expenses, hotels in Southampton are ridiculously expensive in-season. What-the-market-will-bear, etc., but still... Otherwise, charming, comfortable, with a good shower. Very friendly and helpful guy at the desk. Tiny kvetches: No cream (powdered would have been acceptable) in the room with the coffeemaker, and no coffee made in the lobby (could have used some for an early morning departure). Given what's available in So. Hampton in August, a good choice.

The property seems to be in transition. My suite was large with a new bathroom, mid level quality, towels and bed linens were fresh and new as was the bedroom furniture. Very noisy with any minor movement in the hall or adjoining rooms. Not good for a light sleeper. Location is excellent if you like to be in the center of town. Staff was friendly.

1. The property was impossible to find. There are no signs that say Harpoon House. We had to call. Local diners don't even know it exists above the restaurant. 2. Receptionist was very friendly, but the check in area was a little desk below the chairs. Think Harry Potter. 3. Narrow stairs lead to our room 2 floors up. Room was tiny. Hardly enough room to set up our two small bags. 4. Shower was very difficult to use. We gave up. 5. Bed sheets were scented and caused my wife adverse reactions (nausea and coughing). 6. Hotel offers no refunds, just credits if you cancel. 7. Not what we expected in Southampton for the price.

Lovely location, lovely people. They were kind to let me check in much earlier than usual time (even if it was a room less premium than what I paid for... I appreciated the gesture). Having said that, the rooms are too basic (no desk, no shower gel, etc.) for the price and not particularly comfortable. The grounds are not kept particularly well. A staff member walked into my room while I was taking a nap. There was no breakfast or any other dining options offered (this may be my fault thinking this is a bed and breakfast; it was just a bed)

Very clean comfortable room. A small fridge would’ve been nice but we were only there one night so it wasn’t a big deal. Bed was super comfortable and room was bright and airy. Restaurant BluMar is on site. We didn’t have time to eat there but it was crowded upon our return at night and it became more of a club with DJ. We heard music thumping in our room but it wasn’t so bad to disturb our sleep.

Room very nice, comfy bed. Staff was great. Just be aware there is no elevator but staff will help with luggage.
