The sparkling waters of the Gulf of Mexico await just across the street from this ground-floor condo at the Coronado Condominiums on South Padre Island. Not only will you have unbeatable access to one of the prettiest beaches in Texas, you'll come home each afternoon to an outdoor swimming pool on the grounds.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by an open and comfortable living space with central air conditioning, ceiling fans that circulate the cool air, and easy tile floors. To one side is an airy kitchen that's equipped with every appliance and gadget you could need during your stay, as well as a peninsula breakfast bar for three and a dining table for six. To the other side is an inviting living area with ample seating and a flatscreen cable TV.

After a day spent swimming, fishing, or jet-skiing, you'll have a private washer/dryer to refresh your swimsuits and towels, free WiFi to help you plan tomorrow's excursions, and two bedrooms - one with its own flatscreen TV - that promise a sound night's sleep.

Needs repairs

The location literally could not be better. I timed the walk, it was 1 minute and 37 seconds from the front door to the sand. Communication was great regarding the property.Overall the decorations are extremely cute, and a fun beach vibe, but the property mamager will need to do some repairs soon. Hole in the wall (no doorstop) behind the bedroom doorknob when we arrived, key ring by front door falling out of the wall, tv stand in bedroom is wobbly and probably on its last leg, and the front doorknob is only hanging on by one bolt. A/C condensation is leaking from the condensor above the ceiling in the walk in shower (not the one with the tub).Aside from those very specific items, everything else was incredible. Feedback is for the property manager, and hopefully they address for next tenants because everything else was fantastic. The washer dryer was very convenient, 5 second walk to the dumpster, and both the fridge and A/C cool VERY well, much better than most rental units we have used. I would be prepared to buy your own ice from am ice stamd because the ice maker only made 12 cubes during our 4 night stay.Aside from those

I liked the condo overall. However there was no broom or mop available. We had to buy a broom to sweep the sand. We tried to clean off as much as we could at the rinse station but there was still a lot . I noted mold on one of the shower curtains. The kitchen was stocked with utensils and kitchenware, so we were able to cook each night. When we texted the number for info Vacasa responded rather quickly so that was a plus. We enjoyed our stay otherwise.

Nice and clean at a convenient location!

We got a super deal much cheaper than other places in the same area. I was skeptical, however pleasantly surprised! The 2 bed 2 bath apartment was a nice size, and clean. Even with them allowing pets there was no pet smell or over used cleaner smell trying to hide anything. The location is fantastic. Easy to get to the beach, and Kelly's Pub right down the road. It could use a few updates if that is what you like, but we just needed a clean place to have breakfast and sleep. We didn't spend a lot of time in the apartment, we were out exploring most of our stay. We would definitely rent this place again!

Convenient place to stay

The place was a great location and a nice lawn across street to potty the dogs. It was for the most part clean, however, it seemed like the kitchen dishes and utensils had not been used in a while and had that “ocean air film” on them. It would have been nice to have some dish soap available, we left our bottle. There were no extra kitchen garbage bags. Glad we didn’t really plan on cooking, it would have been difficult. However! We could have our dog and a clean dry place to sleep close to the beach and the rest of out family so it worked out great.

Great place to stay!

This condo was clean and had everything you need. Beds were comfortable , but the pillows were not as comfortable. Other than that no complaints. Towels and sheets very clean. Pool was small but very nice and clean. My family had a great time.

DON'T STAY HERE!!!!

We showed up and the air conditioner wasn't working! In July in Texas this is completely UNACCEPTABLE! We called Vacasa and they sent someone over and said they had to turn it off and then back on and it would work which was not the case. My husband is a plumber and could tell it needed to be fixed but they refused to do anything. Then they said they would give us a full refund and so we find another place to stay not managed by Vacasa. A week later, I still have no refund so I called them and they said they have no record of a refund being processed. Then I had to wait on hold and they finally got back to me saying they would refund $100 of the $850 that I paid them for the inconvenience. Are you kidding me?!?! They are complete lying criminals with NO integrity. They should be locked up for the crimes they commit! This is theft, plain and simple.

So-so Lodging

This property is not being well taken care of. We had issues with the front door lock, broken blinds in the bedroom, lack of toilet paper holder, and "no signal" on the TV in one of the bedrooms. All items but the TV were reported but no one ever came to fix them.

Nice, but...

While the condo was nicely set up with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a well-equipped kitchen, the air was musty when we walked in and the AC did not work. I reached out to Vacasa twice about the air quality issues and both times they responded and said they would get a local property manager to come and address our issues - after 5 nights nobody had contacted us locally and the idssue never got addressed. The only relief was that there was a dehumidifier in the condo which helped with the mustiness, however, it pumped out warm air when it ran making it quite warm with no AC to cool it down. Also, there was a metal plate in the ceiling of the second shower (looked like an air-handler cover) that was rusting and dumped rusty water on the shower floor and on our son and daughter-in-law twice while there. So, the condo is nice, but old and unfortunately not maintained in good mechanical condition.

Long overdue visit to South Padre

We have not been to South Padre for a few years and missed it. The condo was very close to the beach, so we were able to walk there easily. A cold front arrived along with us so we ended up inside the condo more than we intended, but we were all comfortable. The kitchen is equipped for making some food to eat there, which we did. Everything was very clean.

Motel not condo

When I booked it showed condo with kitchen. I got there and it was a motel room. When I called to get a refund someone updated the website to show motel style room. I would of not booked as I had no money to eat out and expected a kitchen. False advertisement and then for you all to update after my complaint and tell me it showed motel style room when I booked was so wrong of you.

Puppy beach trip

We have been bringing our kids to SPI for 20 years. We always wanted to take our dogs but finding Properties that worked for family of 6 and allowed pets was always hard. We finally got to let our dogs have a beach trip - Property was perfect and we all had a really good time.
