Our family of 6 adults enjoyed our stay in Hocking Hills. The fire pit and hot tub were a huge hit. The home worked nicely for us with two bedrooms downstairs sharing one bathroom and one bedroom in the open loft having a private bathroom. The kitchen was well stocked with enough dishes, etc. We did bring our own pots and pans for cooking. The area was very quiet and the home was warm and relaxing.
The location is close to many of the Hocking Hills activities. Grandma Faye’s is just down the street and open every day (we needed them on Thanksgiving Day) except Christmas and New Years. Laurelville, a 15 minute drive, offers Jones mini grocery store, Jones Pharmacy, and The Ridge Inn Restaurant. The Ridge Inn offers excellent home cooked meals and desserts.
The pictures shown on the website need to be updated. The main sitting area showed three sofas around the fireplace but upon arrival there were only two. Not enough seating for 6 adults to lounge around for four days. We did bring in the wicker chairs from the porch and used those. Also, the water system is well water with a very strong sulfur smell. We did use the water for showers and cooking but couldn’t get past the smell and drank only bottled water.
Over all the home is beautiful and comfortable. We would stay again if ever back to the area.
