This was, without question, the worst rental experience we’ve had. We left one night early because we could not tolerate another evening there. There was no soap anywhere in the house — no hand soap, dish soap, or body soap. We arrived in the middle of the night after a long drive and couldn’t even wash our hands after using the bathroom. Completely unacceptable. This property is not suitable for six guests as advertised. Four at most. The “queen” beds were actually full-size. There were only six towels total. No extra linens except a dirty wadded blanket in a closet. The pullout couch was unusable — dirty mattress and no sheets. Blankets were paper thin despite freezing temperatures. The house clearly had not been properly prepared. We checked in February 14 and the Christmas tree was still up. The fridge wasn’t connected to water. Floors were dirty, and there wasn’t even a dustpan available to clean them ourselves. The water smelled strongly of sulfur, making showers nearly unbearable. Most amenities were broken or unusable: pool table baskets broken, only one usable cue stick, arcade machine partially working with a broken pedal, wall games falling down, hot tub had a substance in it that caused rashes, and a bathroom towel rod was “repaired” with plastic wrap and hidden under a towel. The dining table only seats four, so our family of six couldn’t even eat together. We attempted to contact the owner with our complaints and received no response.
