We rented this home for a large family reunion, including elderly grandparents, because the advertised number of bedrooms and bathrooms met our needs. Unfortunately, the property fell well short of expectations due to numerous maintenance, cleanliness, and safety issues.The biggest concern was the third-floor showers. They had virtually no usable cold water, and even when set to cold, the temperature would suddenly become dangerously hot without warning. One member of our family was burned while showering. This is a serious safety hazard, especially for children and older adults.Another shower on the second floor leaked through the ceiling into the floor below whenever it was used. We had to stop using it entirely, leaving our large group with fewer functional bathrooms than advertised.Additional issues included:* Extremely dirty floors—white socks became black within minutes of walking through the house.* A strong sewage odor throughout the first floor whenever showers were running.* A leaking kitchen sink.* A refrigerator that continuously leaked water from the ice dispenser, creating a slipping hazard.We also attempted to contact the host through Vrbo but never received a response. Vrbo customer service was equally disappointing. They were unable to reach the host and provided only scripted, unhelpful responses without offering a meaningful resolution.Maintenance issues can happen, but the number and severity of problems significantly affected our family.
