The Cedar Island Ferry and Beach is 15 minutes from the house. If you hop on the ferry there it will take you to Ocracoke.

The Davis Ferry terminal is 15 minutes away in the other direction and will take you to Cape Lookout National Seashore. There are beautiful beaches and a lighthouse. You can take your 4x4 vehicle across or rent a side by side to take over and get around.

Atlantic Beach is 45 minutes away. There you will find Fort Macon where you can tour the actual fort, hang at the beach or take a walk on one of the trails. The town of Atlantic beach also has beautiful beaches and some great restaurants!
