THE HOME Located on the Eastside of Santa Cruz, centrally located. 5 minutes from iPleasure Point and Capitola Village. Newly remodeled 1940’s Cottage Open floor plan with Chef’s Kitchen complete with stainless steel gas range, large farmhouse sink and large island for food prep. Outdoor space with coastal landscaping, large concrete pavers, fountain, string lights and Adirondack chairs for four.
HOME AMENITIES High Speed internet Outdoor space with table and chairs Two designated parking spots off street Sleeps 4 with 1 King sized memory foam mattress and 1 queen sized memory foam mattress.
THE KITCHEN Chef’s Kitchen complete with stainless steel gas range, large farmhouse sink and large island for food prep. Dishwasher, microwave, oven and refrigerator/freezer. Eat up island with seating for two. Fold out table with seating for two. Open floor plan full of light. Coffee, tea, Nespresso machine, drip coffee maker, French press along with sugar provided. Kettle, toaster, rice maker, blender, microwave, oven, Refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher Basic cooking items including salt, pepper, a variety of spices, cooking oils, pots/pans, and cooking utensils.
THE LIVING ROOM Comfortable seating featuring an oversized leather chair as well as couch with chaise. Built in electric fireplace with large 55 inch TV set up with ROKU. Record player with a collection of carefully curated vinyls from vintage shops across the country. Basket containing two wool surplus blankets to use on chilly nights under the stars.
OUTDOOR SPACE Coastal landscaping filled with native plants and a fountain. Large concrete pavers surrounded by Mexican pebbles. Four Adirondack chairs with coffee table sit underneath a string of twinkle lights. Large privacy fence surrounds the space creating an intimate and private experience.
PARKING Two designated off street parking spaces provided. The Cottage parking is located on the right side of the property.
MAIN BED King sized memory foam bed with two types of pillows for those who like more or less support while sleeping. Two nightstands with bedside lamps and USB plugs located on the wall. Closet with both hanging and folding space. Two luggage racks provided. View of the outside space from bed creating a serene and tranquil space.
MAIN BATH Large double sink vanity. Walk in shower with rainfall shower head, custom hexagon tile and glass panel. Towel warmer Built in medicine cabinet with custom lighting above.
SECOND BEDROOM Queen sized memory foam bed with two types of pillows for those who like more or less support while sleeping. Nightstand with bedside lamp and USB plug located on the wall. Two luggage rack provided. No closet space in this room, but this space sits adjacent to the laundry room which has ample storage space and room to place belongings.
LAUNDRY ROOM Washer and Dryer provided for use along with detergent and dryer sheets. Quartz utility sink with matte black faucet and custom lighting. Ironing board, iron, and steamer provided. Board games including Candy Land, Yahtzee, and Pictionary. Book exchange. Feel free to take any books and if you have one you’ve finished, leave it for another guest! Note: back door and dog door are permanently locked. There is no backyard access.
SURFING There are endless waves to surf within minutes of the cottage! Santa Cruz county has a different break every 1/4 mile wrapping along the coast! You will find beach breaks, point breaks, barrels lefts, rights and everything in between. Our proximity close to the freeway and 41st ave make it easy to shoot down to pleasure point for a surf, or hop on the freeway easily accessing waves on the south or westside of town!

This 1940`s Cottage is located on the Eastside- the true heart of Santa Cruz. Great food, surfing, coffee shops and a variety of beaches are just a few minutes away. The close proximity to HWY 1 makes this Cottage a great home base for exploring all that Santa Cruz has to offer.
Uber and Lyft are available but we would highly recommend having a vehicle during your stay here in Santa Cruz.
NOTE: LANDSCAPING COMPANY WILL SERVICE THE PROPERTY MONDAYS MID DAY. Additional Rules: -NO PARTIES OR EVENTS WHATSOEVER. We have a ring security camera at the entry gate and are able to see if people outside your group come to the house. This will result in an IMMEDIATE cancellation of your reservation with NO refund. This specifically applies to large groups of people. We are ok with visitors within reason. -Please only flush toilet paper and NOTHING else. If the toilet clogs during your stay, a fee will be assessed to have a plumber come and make repairs. -No smoking -Not suitable for pets -Check-in is anytime after 4PM -Check out by 10AM -Self check-in with keypad door entry -This is a NO shoes house. All shoes must be taken off at entry. There is a $10 fee per carpet/rug stain left in the home. Please understand this takes A LOT of extra time to clean.

Perfect getaway!
We had a fantastic stay. Great location--close enough to everything we wanted to see and just a short drive to the beach. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was amazing, and we were able to do laundry while we were there. The kids had a great time just visiting in the living room, kitchen, and patio area when we weren't out exploring.

Wonderful stay!
The Coastal Cottage was a wonderful property. I stayed here with my sister and 5-month old son for a week while in town for work. Check in was thorough and super easy! The home was extremely inviting, well maintained and had nice finishes throughout. We felt extremely comfortable and would absolutely stay here again!

Decent place
My stay was quiet, except during the late afternoon rush hour when the street turns into a short cut for a couple hours. It is located well for car trips, but the walking score is not great. The out door area is all dirt, should be pavers or stones, it just gets dirt/dust everywhere. While it was fine for this stay, I would not rent this particular property again.

Beautiful home with everything you need. The cleaning crew forgot to restock dishwashing soap. Brayton had some delivered within an hour. We had an excellent stay and would definitely stay here again.

Spring break at the coastal cottage
Brayton’s cottage was immaculate and well furnished. We had everything we needed! Comfortable beds, a nicely stocked kitchen, and TV with streaming services (you sign in to your own accounts) made the cottage a great place to relax after exploring Capitola and Santa Cruz. The location is very convenient; there are grocery stores and a little mall if you need anything. Communication with the host was fantastic and we’d definitely love to return!

Property very clean. The beds and seating were not very comfortable, it was difficult for my 83 year old mother to get in and out of the bar stools and very low couch. It was not the comfy hangout place that we were seeking. We ended up leaving a day early because we were not comfortable. It also felt somewhat claustrophobic as there were plants growing up over nearly all the side and back windows and the back entrance was blocked by a fake tree. Only entrance and exit was the front door. Felt more like an apartment than a home.

Clean and homey
Our stay at this house was excellent. It was spotless! And the remodel was beautifully done. It really felt like home. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and basic essentials; the instructions that were around were easy to follow; the patio was a great evening hangout; easy to get to the downtown Capitola; and even the beds were comfy with lots of pillows! The house was a little warm in the evenings but with the fans provided and the windows open it cooled down quickly. This cute house is a great stay!

Spring break at the coastal cottage
We loved our stay at the cottage! The house was immaculate and comfortable. I loved the thoughtful details like the record player with vintage albums (my daughter enjoyed playing them!), the shampoo and body wash in the shower, and the Nespresso pods. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was nicely stocked. The location is very convenient for grocery shopping (nearby Whole Foods and Trader Joe's) and you're two minutes away from Pizza My Heart.
Brayton was very responsive and helpful with any questions, and he provided a helpful link with details about the house and the area. Awesome stay and would 100% recommend!

Cottage perfection
My sister and I fell in love with this cottage! Brayton was quick to respond from the get go. Cottage was beautiful, private, quiet, clean, light and you wanted for nothing. Close to wonderful coffee, boardwalk, grocery stores, Capitola and just 45 min to Monterey and Carmel. Beds and linens wonderful, comfortable blankets and all that you need to make a meal. Nespresso each morning in the front patio was lovely. I will definitely be back!!

Property was just as described. Communication with the property manager was top notch. He was very responsive. When I experienced some difficulties with the TV I was able to communicate using the VRBO app. I could not work the TV using the printed instructions posted nearby. I couldn't turn on the TV with the remote, so I assumed its batteries were dead. The manager had Doordash deliver fresh batteries to the doorstep within 10 minutes. However, that wasn't the problem. The remote control apparently only controlled the Roku stick that was plugged into the TV. I was never able to use the power button on the remote to turn on the TV. Instead, I had to manually power on the TV by pressing the switch located under the red light on the unit. Then I would have to select the proper input channel for the attached sound bar otherwise there would be no audio. Again, I had to look for a button to press and figure out what the correct input channel was. At that point I was able to register my accounts and was able to stream my shows. I had to push the button on the TV to turn it off, too. This isn't a complaint. I'm merely including this as part of my review as reference so other guests can work the TV.
Otherwise, everything else went smoothly and I would absolutely return for repeat stays.

We had a wonderful stay Sat-Wed, the cottage is modern, clean, conveniently located close to Whole Foods. Overall it exceeded our expectations.
