We are just finishing our first stay at David’s house, and I can’t say enough about how pleasurable this month has been. We’ve rented apartments in a variety of locations, and his place tops them all. The furnishings are of amazing quality – no leftover odds and ends here. I use a Cuisinart coffee maker in the morning! The art in the house is astounding, so many quality canvases, prints, photos. We spend a fair amount of our inside time just appreciating them. For a one-bedroom house, the space is amazing, a full kitchen, family room, formal living and dining rooms, thick soft carpets everywhere, it’s truly remarkable. The garden in back is great. It’s well-tended, and sitting out there with a beer at the end of a day of touring is perfect.
There is a new, huge Lucky’s supermarket literally a block away – and it’s a flat walk, no hills! Three of our favorite places to eat and drink are just across the street from the market, and the lovely Panhandle is a mere three blocks away. We have great memories now of sunny walks among the giant eucalyptus. We’re not in the heart of “old” San Francisco, and we personally find that to be a plus. It’s wonderful to be able to enjoy that area sometimes, and then to come home to a quiet, lovely residential area. We are bus people, and the buses in this area are incredibly convenient. The Ferry Building is 15-20 minutes away by bus, another whisks you right to the center of the beautiful Presidio, four or five others move you to Fisherman’s Wharf, Nob Hill, the Castro and Noe Valley, on and on.
David is impressively attentive to any issue you may have and responds almost always the same day to emails. He has a handyman on call, there are cleaners that show up every two weeks, very clear instruction notebooks strategically placed around the house. Communicating with him has been an ongoing pleasure.
Too good to be true? How sincere is this evaluation? We’ve already booked the house for next year!
