„Pleasant staff, nice facilities“

„On a passé deux nuits pour aller-retour en Ecosse. Cet hôtel est situé dans un petit village au calme mais pas très loin du centre ville. Les chambres sont propres avec des meubles et une décoration très chic, le lit est assez grand et confortable. On a aussi dîné dans leur restaurant, c’était délicieux. Le meilleur c’était le petit déjeuner anglais, c’était excellent. Ils ont aussi un parking gratuit, c’est appréciable, je recommande! “

„We have just returned from a really lovely two night stay at the Wellington. The whole weekend from start to finish was very special and made even better by the staff. Particular mention must go to Ellie who managed a problem for us that was our fault but she went above and beyond to help us work it out. „Nice amenities and comfy bed with nice linens. Pub and dining room are downstairs so noise does travel as rooms are over the pub. Staff very friendly. Good food in the downstairs restaurant. Right in town and sidewalks for getting out and about in the small village. “

„Wir waren schon einmal vor sieben Jahren im "The Old Red Lion Inn" und es hat uns gut gefallen.Dieses Mal waren wir aber enttäuscht ,denn die Betten waren so durchgelegen ,dass die Sprungfedern schon durchkamen.Nach der esten Nacht bekamen wir ein neues Zimmer, aber die Betten waren im gleichen Zustand wie im ersten Zimmer.Da meine Frau Probleme mit ihrem Rücken hat,wurden ihre Schmerzen unerträglich und sie daher nur noch kurze Wege laufen konnte.Das Frühstück ist auch nicht mehr so ...

„Very old building, uneven floors gave it character. Very steep steps up to the accommodation level though. No parking, though I thought there was (I guess I misread the information about this place), nearest parking was just round the corner and cost £8 overnight, i.e. 24 hours. This was recommended by the staff when we arrived, not knowing where to park. Next day I asked at nearby Waitrose about free parking and they helpfully pointed out several on-street free parking marked bays which were ...

„Why do hotel designers think it is OK to have an ensuite bathroom with no door? A curtain is not an adequate replacement for a door. This was a big issue for us. Also the only seating in our room was 1 dining chair and 1 stool when there was room for something more comfortable. I don't want to have to sit on the bed, particularly at the price this hotel came in at. Everything else was very good.“

„We arrived very early in the morning due to flight schedule and quite obviously our was not yet ready. However, we were welcomed very polite and enjoyed some complimentary tea and toast. Very nice and quiet supper in the evening, food was excellent. Had a good night sleep and a wonderful breakfast next morning. We will definitely return“

„Das Porterhouse ist eine Pub mit B&B. Das Zimmer war schön, der Service war 0. Man musste sein Frühstück selber machen. Außer O-Saft, verschiedener Teesorten, frisches Obst, und Mueslisorten gab es nur Nescafé, Marmelade, Toastbrot und altbackene Croissants. . Kein Ei. Käse und Aufschnitt nur auf Vorbestellung gegen Bezahlung. Die Inhaber waren nur zwischen 12.00 und 23.00 Uhr anwesend, außerhalb dieser Zeiten nur telefonisch erreichbar.“

Sie wöre auch keine Klempnerin, sagte die angestelkte. Service bempht aber überfordert, tendenz zur unhöflichkeit. Lage gut. Pub ok“

However the lodge is damp and the heating is wholly inadequate, the macerator in the shower room had leaked under the laminate floor and was still leaking on my arrival.The property was a health hazard.
