No water at motel 6/no cancellation allowed
It has been a while since I wrote a bad review for a motel, but I had a big issue with this property. Arrived into town, booked a room minutes before pulling into the Motel 6, and tried to check in. The evening manager said that the water had been off for a while because of a frozen pipe (it is Wyoming in the winter) and that he recommended I cancel and stay elsewhere because there was no estimate of when the water would be running again. The plumber told me outside, when I was booking another room, that it would be a while and it would be wise to go elsewhere. The plumber and the front desk were in a small argument and it is after 9 PM; not a good sign. I contacted Hotels.com customer service the next morning and told them of the issue. The Motel 6 Rock Springs manager decided he was going to deny the request for my cancellation that could get my one nights stay money back. I do not think this is fair at all; that person knew about lack of water and I don't know how 2 people could have used the toilet, let alone shower or get a drink of water. Things happen, especially in frigid weather, and ethical businesses look beyond a cancellation policy and make things right. Sad that you decided to keep the money; you didn't really have a motel room to rent.

The floors were dirty. We walked around in our socks and the bottom of the socks were blackened. Flimsy cheap washcloths. Outside area around door was dirty. Mattress on bed was uncomfortable. Very disappointed. Will not be staying there again.

Well. Not as clean as it could have been- everything was in disrepair- the water was hot but the water pressure was terrible- towels were stained and there was a heavy disinfectant smell to everything- it was inexpensive which was good-

Heater made noises as If It was about to come rumbling down and the price was not charged correctly from Hotels.com . Called and was told that It would be compensated otherwise It would’ve been a huge Issue. The room was In terrible condition walls were peeling and bathroom door would not shut, but I had no choice but to stay because of how tired me and my family were.

Curtains were not all the way hooked on the rod, no wash clothes, no soap, shampoo, etc. Refrigerator smelled and freeze was full of water, very few options on TV for children and not the cleanest. And, No coffee pot but did have a small microwave. No heat but the office furnished a space heater. Outside was not maintain and several piles of dog poop. And, for some reason he charged me about $20 less then i was quoted online, which made it a little more in comparison.

This is an older Motel 6 undergoing extensive renovation. Our room was the classic Motel 6 room, clean, comfortable and basic. No complaints. A good stay at Motel 6 price.

Rock and a hard place
While the staff is friendly they are not all skilled at their jobs, but make an effort. The Motel is in the process of renovation so some difficulties are not the fault of the facility. However working thermostats at this time of year is a complete requirement.

This motel is uninhabitable. Majority of the property is under renovation with holes in the walls to the exterior. The motel door was not working with the key card. Once in the room I quickly noticed every single towel in the room was dirty and stained, the bedding was also dirty, stained, and full of someone else’s hair. I stripped the bedding and towels and returned to the front desk. Staff were embarrassed and offered me some cleaner linens. After I remade my own room up, I quickly discovered there was no heat in the room (the temperature that night was 35°F) and I had to sleep in my jacket. It was FREEZING. This was a horrible stay. I expect a refund or deep discount. This stay did NOT meet the already low expectations for a cheap motel stay - it was filthy and freezing.

The heavyset man at the desk was arrogant and rude to my husband. It is cold here in late Sept, but he said they don’t turn on the heat til winter! He grudgingly gave us a heater, which flipped the breaker, and he was rude about flipping it back on again; we had to ask him again!

Avoid This Place.
Both towels were disgusting. One had a blood stain and the other had a huge circular tear towards a corner. Also, there was a trash can under the P trap in the bathroom because it leaked so badly. Here’s an idea: Fix the leak amd THEN give out the room. Also, the shower was not cleaned and the water pressure was terrible. After seeing that, I grabbed a sleeping bag out of the car and slept on top of the bed. By the way, the fact that they are remodeling has NOTHING to do with how poor the room was. Obviously, no one there cares if the shower is not cleaned and the P trap is cracked.

Property was dated, as expected, so no issue there. Hair on the sink and one in bathtub. Noticed this morning the bathtub faucet had a steady trickle. I couldnt turn it off. When i checked in, i was told the AC only worked on low setting. I didn’t notice even that working.
