Really enjoyed our stay at the boathouse. Super clean property, which is of the utmost importance to me. The boathouse is original from the 1950’s I believe, so don’t expect the latest model of furniture or decor, but that lends itself to such a cool experience in my opinion. Upon arrival Mike & Wanda had a variety of complimentary snacks for us-super thoughtful and my family appreciated it. I do have to point out that the kitchen is well stocked, but small. It is a very unique set up of a single unit stove/oven/sink/fridge-I’ve never seen anything like it. Totally functional, but the fridge is the size of a dorm fridge, so you should be aware of that. There is another similarly sized fridge available on property, both have a small freezer section within the fridge, so you may have to keep a cooler with ice to help with overflow food, or make more trips to the store. I absolutely loved being on White Birch Lake and that it connected to two other lakes. The rental included enough watercraft for all six of us! Canoe, kayaks, SUP, row boat and life vests too. We rented a boat motor from Mike for an additional charge-well worth it. This whole arrangement made life so easy for us to just enjoy our vacation and not have to run around scrounging up/hauling a bunch of toys. Mike and Wanda also have two hammocks, multiple comfy outdoor seating areas, a fire pit with wood provided, gas grill, charcoal grill, small sand beach, dock, screened in gazebo (super cool retro set up!)- all included!! Mike and Wanda live in a house on the property and are very accessible for questions about the property or suggestions for things to do off property. There is another rental cabin on the property as well-not too close and not intrusive at all. We experienced bald eagles, loons, ducks, chipmunks, good fishing, & beautiful views. The end of the lake the boathouse is on is very quiet. In general we did not experience much commotion on any of the lakes, though water skiing/jet skiing is permitted on the rest of White Birch and the other two lakes. They just had internet installed the week before we arrived. Two people in our family needed access to WiFi for work and when we gave Mike feedback that it was not really reaching the boathouse he immediately installed a signal booster! We were able to function like that from the gazebo for the most part, but at times one person would have to make a trip to the public library 15 minutes away to be able to zoom. ❤️Would return:)
