„We were a bit confused by this hotel. This is a luxury boutique hotel that didn’t really feel like a luxury hotel. The staff were nice which is expected but didn’t go out of their way for us. The location is excellent and our room had a beautiful view of the Portofino piazza but the windows all had signs saying “please keep windows closed”. Our room furnishings were standard. „Location and size were perfect. That’s it for anything good. In all our years of traveling we have never stayed in a filthier hotel. The putrid stairs and doormat were the first warning. Between the 2 beds was a clump of hair. Beside the bedhead was accumulated old dust. The shower had something unspecified on the drain. as I showered, my foot rubbed dirt off the floor.
