![Apollonia (Ancient Greek: Ἀπολλωνία κατ᾿ Ἐπίδαμνον or Ἀπολλωνία πρὸς Ἐπίδαμνον, Apollonia kat' Epidamnon or Apollonia pros Epidamnon) was an ancient Greek city in Illyria,[1] located on the right bank of the Aous river (modern-day Vjosë). Its ruins are situated in the Fier region, near the village of Pojani, in modern-day Albania. Apollonia was founded in 588 BCE by Greek colonists from Corfu and Corinth,[2] on a site initially occupied by Illyrian tribes[3] and was perhaps the most important of the several classical towns known as Apollonia. Apollonia flourished in the Roman period and was home to a renowned school of philosophy, but began to decline in the 3rd century AD when its harbor started silting up as a result of an earthquake. It was abandoned by the end of Late Antiquity.

„Ich musste leider aus medizinischen Gründen hier notgedrungen eine Nacht verbringen. Trotzdem war mein Aufenthalt sehr gut. Die Zimmer sind sauber und modern. Die Dame an der Rezeption gehört höchstes Lob ausgesprochen. Es ist nicht selbstverständlich eine so nette und hilfsreiche Ansprechperson zu haben. Sie war mir bei allem sehr behilflich und wenn ich zurück nach Vlorë komme werde ich ziemlich sicher wieder zurück kommen. “

„Die Unterkunft ist sehr modern und schick eingerichtet, das Hotel ist noch sehr neu. Eine der Mitarbeiterinnen war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, in 50% der Fälle saß jedoch jemand am Schalter, der definitiv minderjährig ist, kein Englisch versteht und nicht einmal grüßen kann. „Adorable Hotel in Vlores’s City Center. Conveniently located.! Staff were friendly, professional and accommodating. Room was comfortable, pillows were awful.
I just don’t understand the expectations of showering in those small showers with the tiny glass partition and having to step out to a completely drenched bathroom floor. And if you have a big butt it won’t fit on the toilet that is jammed up against the shower glass partition.“

„The huts were most probably in a nice condition in 2019 but now they are almost breaking apart due to bad maintainment and quality. The toilets seats were on the floor, the fridge was full of mould. Furthermore the payment was done and they still asked for money. At least the place has a nice location, they try to maintaib the beach and the breakfast was fine. Nit Not recommended to stay here.“
