Dies ist ein Original Lincoln Logs Haus, eingebettet in fast drei Hektar privaten Wald, mit 100 Meter von der Seeseite.

Keine lauten Motorboote an diesem Ende des Sees, nur viel Wildtiere und gelegentlich Kanus oder Kajaks.

Ein handgefertigtes Kanu ist bereit fĂŒr Ihren Genuss.
Schöne Aussicht auf Herbstlaub und ganz in der NĂ€he von Jiminy Peak und Bousquet Skigebieten. Haus ist wĂ€hrend der Skisaison verfĂŒgbar. Der brandneue Harman Wood Pellet Stove hĂ€lt das Haus selbst an den kĂ€ltesten Tagen warm!

Die Kabine bietet Platz fĂŒr fĂŒnf Personen, mit einem Queensize-Bett im Hauptschlafzimmer, einem Doppelklotzbett und einer Luftmatratze im Dachgeschoss sowie einem Doppelschlafsofa im Arbeitsraum. Viele Deckenventilatoren sorgen fĂŒr AbkĂŒhlung und der Harman Pelletofen fĂŒr winterliche WĂ€rme. Es gibt auch einen original Franklin Holzofen (Holz zur VerfĂŒgung gestellt) fĂŒr romantische Feuer. Gut ausgestattete KĂŒche und BettwĂ€sche. Ein Glenwood-Gasherd aus den 20er Jahren in der KĂŒche. Großer Fernseher in der Höhle mit vielen Filmen zu sehen. Zehn mal zehn ĂŒberprĂŒften Gazebo direkt am Wasser mit einer gefĂŒllten Feuerstelle und honduranischen HĂ€ngematten in der NĂ€he.

Beyond expectation - a hidden Gem

I could not be more satisfied with the experience we had during our short stay. It was actually very nice to be more in the quiet Cove vs the main lake area
 Paddling via canoe or kayak to the main lake area and swimming off of the island there was quite special.

Wonderful cabin and property

The cabin is large and extremely well stocked inside and out. The property is large and there are many amenities outside near the water. The cabin had everything we needed and it is close to Mount Greylock reserve. I wish we had a few more days to spend there. We would love to visit again. The best VRBO we have ever rented.

This was the second time we stayed in this home because it is so nice and the host is generous and friendly. On a cold rainy day we stayed indoors with a fire and on the nice weather days we spent time by the lake. A perfect combination. We definitely go back.

What a great weekend!! I just wish we could have stayed longer. The cabin is beautiful and had everything I was looking for. Very comfortable accommodations for the 3 of us. We throughly enjoyed being outdoors around the fire pit which was great after a long afternoon on the kayak and canoe. Host was easy to reach with great communication. Overall very happy with our stay and look forward to returning.

Lakeside Paradise

John has created an idyllic, lakeside retreat. The cabin has such a cozy, comfy feel and the family memorabilia makes it even more so. He really thinks of everything with some welcoming touches that create an inviting environment from the moment you step inside. This cabin truly has everything you could need or want to enjoy a peaceful, serene stay. I even found my most favorite childhood read, "The Secret Garden" nestled upon the bookshelves! We enjoyed canoeing, grilling and a nice pondside barbecue and fire. The only thing that could have been better, from the guys' point of view would have been the secret to catching the elusive carp in the lake. Thank you, John for sharing your piece of paradise with us...we can't wait to return!

Peaceful getaway

This is a well loved family property and evidence of their enjoyment of it surrounds you. The location is lovely and we spent mornings and afternoons sitting by the water or kayaking and exploring the wetlands. If you love nature then this is the spot for you. We saw bald eagles, osprey, kingfishers, a least bittern, herons and a common egret.

Colgate Girls Trip

This space is very special. It offers everything you might need to refuel. Two in our party just sat and looked at the water and wildlife the entire time. Two of us took advantage of the close hiking trail and kayaks. A bald eagle landed on an islet about 50 feet out in the water and just hung there for an hour. After about 20 minutes, I whispered “this is the best thing that has ever happened to us” and everyone just nodded. I want to put future visitors minds at ease about previous comments on the space. John has switched which room is the bedroom and which is the sitting room- so the bathroom is now off the tv/sitting room. No awkward walking past someone sleeping for nighttime ablutions. And he has figured out a very effective cooling system that involves a window AC unit and a series of fans. There was no issue at all with the cabin being hot- even in the loft where two of us slept. We booked ourselves for a week in 2025 for our next girls trip!

Perfect family getaway

Visited with my family of 5 for a last minute vacation. The cabin was charming, clean, and well stocked and John is a fantastic and welcoming host. We loved kayaking on the lake and enjoying coffee on the porch. Absolutely recommend!

We have been coming here nearly every year for 7 years and are always happy every time. It’s just great in every way-l the good reviews and photos are true. Great Vacation Spot!

This cabin and property is beautiful, clean, fully stocked, and very well maintained. We stayed there during a hot July week but the cabin was always cool and comfortable. The bedroom is air conditioned and the fans circulated the air, maintaining a pleasant temperature. The host was always available to answer any questions or concerns. We would gladly stay here again and recommend it to others.

Home away from home

We love coming to America House each summer to unplug and reconnect with nature. Watching humming birds and chipmunks going busily about their day out the massive windows as we lazily sip our morning coffee in the front room and then wandering down to lake to sit some more in the big Adirondack chairs and watch the dragon flies or take the canoe out to visit the great blue heron
these are some of the joys of this very special place John is the perfect host—always attentive without ever becoming obtrusive. He thinks of everything!

Quite Relaxing Retreat

John was helpful and kind. I would definitely rent his cabin again. It's clean and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful with several seating areas and a grill by the water. Kayaking was perfect, the adjacent lake is clean and great for swimming. And, of course, The Berkshires are a wonderful playground for cultural activities, hiking and biking.
