Not As Advertised/Very Disappointed
Property was adverised as a newer build. I'm not sure when this was built, but it is certainly not new. The outside of the property was very unkempt, with plenty of weeds and overgrown brush. The path to the entrance (deck) was uneven and had several trip hazards, as also did the inside floors (transitions between rooms).The full bathroom was off of one of the bedrooms and had sliding glass doors to enter. The curtains to provide privacy were on the outside of the glass doors, which actually could have eliminated the possibility of privacy. In the VRBO ad, it said that all comforters were covered with duvet covers which were washed after each rental. None of our beds had comforters with duvet covers.The sofas in the living room were covered with blankets/throws (not pictured in the VRBO photos). There was unfinished construction in the house (ceilings, walls, floors, etc.). On the second and third nights of our stay, we saw a mouse several times. This was the "straw that broke the camel's back," and we left the house early the next day, a day earlier than we had paid.Although the following was not the fault of the host, on day 3, the water from the faucets and in the toilets was brown, evidently from construction that was being done on the street in front of the house. The host did not mention anything to us about the situation or its cause.Al was pleasant when we saw him, and he did leave quite a few polished Petoskey stones for us.
