Welcome to Scoots Creek Hideaway! Slow down, breathe in the mountain air, and settle into the charm of a true log cabin. Our cozy one-bedroom cabin is the perfect little getaway for couples or friends looking to enjoy the beauty of Panguitch Lake and Southern Utah without giving up the comforts of home.
The cabin features a comfortable queen-size bed in the private bedroom, as well as a queen size pull out sofa sleeper in the living room. Enjoy a full kitchen, compact washer/dryer combo, as well an open living area with vaulted exposed beams that make mountain evenings especially inviting.
Whether you're here to fish Panguitch Lake, explore hundreds of miles of ATV trails, hike through Dixie National Forest, visit Bryce Canyon or Zion, explore Cedar Breaks, photograph fall foliage, or simply slow down and enjoy the quiet mountain air, Skoots Creek Hideaway makes a wonderful Southern Utah home base.

THE CABIN

Come home after a day of exploring Southern Utah and relax in a warm, comfortable true log cabin surrounded by the beauty of the mountains and National Forest
The living area is designed for relaxing, reading, playing games, watching a movie, or simply enjoying a quiet evening together.
The cabin has two TVs: main living area and bedroom.
A 4k Roku is provided for free streaming with a guest code. Guests are welcome to use their own streaming-service accounts by downloading streaming apps before arrival.
Wi-Fi is available, and access information will be provided at check-in.

Dixie National Forest

Panguitch Lake is surrounded by the Dixie National Forest and the Markagunt Plateau.
Dixie National Forest offers hiking, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking, ATV riding, wildlife viewing, photography, hunting, and winter recreation.

Cedar Breaks National Monument
Approximately 15–20 miles | about 25–30 minutes
A spectacular high-elevation amphitheater filled with red rock formations, alpine scenery, wildflowers, hiking, and incredible stargazing.
Cedar Breaks is approximately 14 miles from the Panguitch Lake campground area.

Bryce Canyon National Park
Approximately 40 miles | about 45–55 minutes

Scenic Byway 143 — The Patchwork Parkway
One of the area's hidden gems is Utah Scenic Byway 143, also known as the Patchwork Parkway.
The route climbs through dramatic changes in elevation, alpine forests, aspen groves, Brian Head, Cedar Breaks, Panguitch Lake, and the Dixie National Forest. In autumn, the aspen groves become especially spectacular. The full byway is approximately 50–55 miles and is a beautiful scenic drive through the mountains.

Shopping / Eating Out

There is a general store at the Lake for limited supplies. Panguitch, a 20 minute drive, has a small grocery store. Cedar City is the closest city with traditional shopping, 50 minutes drive time.
There are a number of resorts at the lake that have dining options. The Burger Barn offers great food and BBQ.
Panguitch has a number of great options for dinning. Don't miss the Cowboy Smokehouse.
Duck Creek Village about 20 minutes has a nice pizzeria and an award winning bakery

STREAMING

Two TVs are provided in the living room and bedroom
A 4k Roku and with a guest code is provided for free basic streaming entertainment.
Guests are welcome to sign into their own streaming accounts for Netflix, etc
Guests are responsible for signing out of their personal streaming accounts before checkout.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW

This is a mountain cabin at approximately 8,400 feet elevation. Weather and road conditions can change quickly so come prepared. Services are limited during off season so pack supplies for your stay.
Temporary power or internet interruptions are possible. These events can occur in mountain communities and are outside the host's control. An emergency lantern and flash lights are available in case of an outage. Report any outages to your host.
During winter, guests should check current road conditions and weather forecasts before traveling. Snow tires, chains, or four-wheel drive may be advisable depending on conditions.
Because the cabin is surrounded by nature, guests may occasionally encounter wildlife or other normal mountain-environment conditions.
Please do not leave food or trash outside the cabin.

HOUSE RULES

We want you to have a wonderful stay while helping us keep Skoots Creek Hideaway beautiful and peaceful for future guests.

Maximum occupancy is 4 guests.
Please do not exceed the number of guests listed on your reservation without prior approval.

No parties, events, weddings, receptions, or large gatherings are permitted.

No smoking, vaping, or e-cigarettes inside the cabin.

Quiet hours
Please observe quiet hours from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM and be respectful of neighboring cabins

Pets
No pets are allowed at the Skoots Creek Hideway

Fire safety
Please use any propane stove, grill, or fire pit only as specifically permitted and according to the provided instructions. Check local fire restrictions before using the fire permit or cooking outside
Never leave an active fire unattended.

ATV/UTV use
ATVs and UTVs must be operated in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and trail regulations.
Please do not ride on private property or restricted roads.

Parking
Parking for 2+ vehicles plus a ATV/UTV trailer is available at the Skoots Creek Hideaway.

Trash
Please follow the cabin's trash-disposal instructions and do not leave trash outdoors where it can attract wildlife.

No illegal activity
Illegal drug use and unlawful activity are prohibited.

Respect the cabin
Please treat the cabin and its furnishings with care. Report accidental damage promptly so we can address it.
Checkout is 11:00 a.m.
Guests should remove personal belongings, and follow the provided checkout instructions.
Please return the keys to the lockbox if accessed.
Please turn the heat down to 50 in cooler months.
