Strongly caution anyone considering this host. The city experienced a water outage. Our unit on the 11th floor had no running water or AC for approximately 2 days, (our stay was 3 days) The heat index was104. Our party consist of newborn and elderly. We could not flush toilets, sanitize bottles, or perform basic hygiene. These conditions were incredibly unsafe. I remained in constant communication with the host and repeatedly explained our situation. The host continuously told us that water had been restored, that was not true for our unit due to water pressure issues with the resort pumps. We had to leave and pay for another hotel out of our own pocket. The host offered 75 in refund, this really felt more like a slap in the face. The host's response was that the outage was the city's fault, the burden should fall entirely on the guests. Fortunately, we were able to afford going somewhere else, but I can foresee that some families would have been locked in due to financial constraints. Also, Laketown Wharf issued a full refund and gave the option to leave or stay. The resort refunded our HOA fee. I'd recommend just booking with Laketown, how a host responds during a crisis says a lot about their commitment to their guests. Our experience was met with very little empathy and no meaningful effort to make things right.
