1. no a/c as advertised. The room was hot and stuffy. 2. noisy: A. traffic on main street, B. trains passed through very close to hotel several times throughout the night. The room shakes when the train passes through and the horn from the train is quite loud. 3. The bed was very soft. Perhaps comfortable for some people but not us.

The Steaming Tender restaurant, owned by the same people is lovely, and within walking distance. We have family in town and stay a few times a year. It has never been a bad experience. It is always very clean!

TRAINMASTERS INN was wonderful! Beautiful and tastefully done. I loved the decor and the historical theme to it. Very easy checkin and checkout process, bed very comfortable and room very clean and spacious. And the muffins that were left for you in the kitchen area were delicious! I would definitely stay again . I am a travel medical person so this was a great little gem when I needed somewhere to stay during a winter storm and allow me to get to my assigment the next day without having to travel too far to get there.

Train Lovers!
Second time we have stayed here. Self check with easy to follow directions. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The train memoribilia is outstanding including a library of train books to browse through. Steaming Tender restaurant is within walking distance and has excellent food and service. Great stop if you plan to visit the area. Peaked Mountain and Echo Orchards Distillery and Winery is down the street in Monson.

Excellent place to spend the night
I liked almost everything A LOT. Good location, easy parking and check-in process, good communications, nice room, good bed, good bathroom. Train theme and decor was adorable. Small point to improve: --Get rid of the strongly scented air "fresheners" that are in the hall as well as guest rooms. The perfume they spray would have triggered a migraine if I hadn't been able to unplug them, open windows and leave for 2 hours. Other people are far more scent-sensitive, and might become sick immediately. No need to spend $ on these, given the spotless cleanliness! Hotels.com sent wrong check-in time -- an hour earlier than Inn wants (staff kindly accommodated us) -- and sent check-out instructions 5 hours after we'd checked out (and 3+ hours after required checkout time). They aren't representing the Inn as it deserves!

Very nice B&b.Room was clean and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The only complaint I have was that I could hear the people in the room below, but in all fairness I did retire early.

We were highly impressed with the attention to detail of this gorgeous inn. We loved the honor and preservation of history that this great family has engaged in with the Trainmaster’s Inn and their restaurant The Steaming Tender. It was quite a delightful and memorable experience for us. God bless them and their business.

Our room was spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed the train decorations that were everywhere - well done. The muffin and yogurt breakfast was just right because we had a super meal at the Steaming Tender the night before.

A little surprised that we never met anybody during checkin, breakfast or checkout. The muffins were good and they were clear on what to expect, but other bed and breakfasts had made to order breakfasts. The bottled water were in glass bottles that were dusty, so not sure how fresh the water was. Overall a quiet clean place to stay otherwise.
