Gute Lage, Achtung "Resort Fee"
Die Unterkunft wirkte für mich eher wie ein Budget-Motel. Das Frühstück fand ich für amerikanische Verhältnisse in Ordnung. Besonders praktisch war die Nähe zum Strand (nur ca. 5 Minuten zu Fuß). Leider hat das Hotel eine "Resort Fee" von $5.80 + tax berechnet, welche vorher gar nicht bei der Buchung erwähnt wurde. Ein Resort stelle ich mir aber ganz anders vor. Solche versteckten Kosten halte ich für eine Unverschämtheit. Alle Kosten sollten meines Erachtens vor der Buchung ersichtlich sein.

Typisches La Quinta Hotel, aber leider sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Der Teppich im Treppenhaus ist sehr abgenutzt und in den Zimmen müffelt es leicht. Das Frühstück ist typisch für USA auf Styroportellen und Einwegbesteck. Waffeln, Toast, Müsli, Äpfel, Kaffee und Saft stehen zur Auswahl.

Leider sehr renovierungsbedürftig
Hotel stark heruntergekommen. Extrem modrig und schimmlig. Fenster ließen sich nicht öffnen. Armaturen im Badezimmer fallen auseinander. Fußbodenbeläge lösten sich in Einzelteilen auf. Wir sind absolut keine "Ökos" - aber der Plastikmüll beim Frühstück war schockierend. Plastik Teller, Plastikbecher, Plastikbesteck, sogar jeder Apfel einzeln in Plastik Verpackung...

Nie wieder! Wir waren vor drei Jahren bereits in diesem Hotel und waren eigentlich zufrieden, deshalb haben wir es erneut gebucht. Leider haben wir dieses Mal das schlimmste Zimmer überhaupt bekommen. Die komplette Einrichtung im Zimmer war kaputt: sämtliche Steckdosen kamen aus der Wand, die Betten waren überall gebrochen, die Lampen waren kaputt und konnten nur angelehnt stehen, die Duscharmatur war ebenfalls so lose, dass man beim einschalten der Dusche Angst hatte, man hält den Hebel in der Hand. Die Wanne und das Waschbecken waren ebenfalls kaputt. Wir haben uns kaum getraut die Elektrik zu verwenden. Die Klimaanlage war so laut, dass ein Schlafen kaum möglich war. Das Bett war schmutzig, überall im Zimmer und im Bad lagen Haare. Das ganze Zimmer roch nach Urin. Das Frühstück war für amerikanische Verhältnisse in Ordnung, leider konnte keinerlei Allergieinformation gegeben werden, der Mitarbeiter an der Rezeption machte auch keine Anstalten, dass es ihn interessieren würde. Insgesamt war das Personal nicht freundlich, man wurde nicht begrüßt, beim Check Out hat man nur wortlos die Zimmerkarte in Empfang genommen. Absolut nicht empfehlenswert!

Der Aufenthalt hat uns sehr gefallen. Das Hotel und die dazugehörige Poolanlage ist einem gepflegten Zustand. Ebenfalls positiv überrascht war ich durch die vorhandenen Handtücher am Pool. Das Personal war stets zuvorkommend und hat sich super um unsere Anliegen gekümmert. Das Frühstück war gut und typisch amerikanisch. Es gab neben den Klassikern auch einen Waffelmaker. Was leider nicht gut geklappt hat, war der Transfer zu den Themenparks. Wir hatten uns bewusst deswegen für das Hotel entschieden, da dieses einen Transfer anbietet. Morgens um 10 Uhr sollte der Transfer in Richtung Universal Studios starten, jedoch kam es hier schon zu einer etwa 25 Minütigen Verspätung. Die Abholung für die Rückreise sollte am Abend um 18 Uhr passieren, jedoch kam bis 18:45 niemand. Wir hatten auch das Hotel angerufen, wobei hier keine Auskunft gegeben werden konnte. Letztendlich sind wir nach der langen Wartezeit mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln zurückgefahren, was dann auch Recht schnell ging. Dennoch hat uns die lange Wartezeit sehr verärgert und am nächsten Tag sind wir dann mit dem Auto zu Universal gefahren.

This hotel should be closed by the Florida Department of Health due to the roach infestation (we killed more than 10 roaches in different sizes - we got pictures). I have never ever had an experience like this in any place, especially in a hotel room, and on top of that, the negligence of employees saying they would charge me for a night because I was leaving that room full of roaches. The hotel also was very dirty, the stairs were rusty and dirty, and the room was bad, including the white tub with the floor black, the radio/clock was a piece of rusty metal the same as the bath curtain and the luggage stand. The room carpet, I guess, never has been cleaned... It was a nightmare because we had to leave with my poor son tired and it was very hard for us to find another hotel. We checked in around 2:00 pm and went out immediately and when we returned around 8:45 pm the nightmare started.
