This was the perfect Getaway for me, my boys (12, 14) and Grandpa. As soon as we got there we felt comfortable, plopped stuff down and went to the backyard river and started fishing (great bonding time for kids and Grandpa). This has everything you need so just bring your clothes and food. Furniture is comfortable, decorations inviting and layout worked perfect for me and my boys upstairs and Grandpa downstairs. We found anything we looked for (except I looked in every cabinet for a pot, then my kids pointed out it was hanging over the island!) We took advantage of everything this house has to offer; grill, eating outside, game cabinet and table, bonfire, coffee on deck. We even enjoyed being a little nosy and looking at antiques like a 1930s radio cabinet my kids were curious about. The house is on a dead-end street and I always feel like I am a local when I get there. I’ve stayed a couple houses away and it the houses are close, but neighbors are extremely friendly and will wave to say hi, but then let you have your privacy. With the forest across the river, just sit, look for the eagles and after a while you really feel away. It’s very peaceful and relaxing. Oregon is a nice little town and has the basics, but if you want to take a scenic drive to Dixon, that’s neat too. Castle Rock is a couple mins away and my kids like to go to the look out and skip rocks. But, mostly we just hang out at the house and relax, which is why we go. We will go back and look forward to it!
