Do not judge the book by its cover. This place will bring you back to your childhood and tie in so much area history with it. Each room, even the closets are named for Presidents that had some type of influence to this area, most good but a couple bad. Each guest room has its own unique style decor and history. There is a library, a gymnasium( yes, just like you remember from 1960’s stage and all) and wonderful area they serve a delicious breakfast. It was an experience anyone who wants to explore something different than most. We thank our hosts.

City school converted to B and B. Historical room themes. Each room is giant and still has aspects of the school classroom. Available full kitchen would make it an ideal place for a longer term stay. Very clean. Friendly owners. Breakfast was excellent. Great place to stay when visiting colleges in area (easy 30 minute drive to most)

The property was so unique and you can tell the owners have a lot of pride in the property. The rooms are clean and large for a family of 4 with 2 adult teenagers and the breakfast was delicious. Definitely a gem if you are looking for a unique stay. We would absolutely stay again

My stay in the Sherman Inn was fantastic. Jim & Donna are exceptionally kind, are fantastic hosts, and have a deep knowledge & appreciation for the area and its history, which they share enthusiastically. The building (a converted school) and rooms are very engaging and relaxing. A very comfortable bed, spacious suite, and a delicious breakfast! This trip was for work, but based on the quality of The Sherman Inn, my wife and I are planning a return trip.

Sherman Inn is the best!!! The rooms are spacious, beautiful and full of history. Hosts are very welcoming and the breakfasts are absolutely delicious. There are lots of little perks that make you feel welcomed and very comfortable. Highly recommend checking it out.

Fun and comfortable stay!
Very cool and quirky hotel built inside an old elementary school. Huge rooms and friendly and helpful owners. Tons of local history stuff here too all around and built into the inn's decor. Yummy breakfast with real local maple syrup

I have stayed at the Sherman Inn several times and have had a wonderful stay every time. From the very first visit, we were hooked!!! My husband passed away in July of 2023. Myself, my daughter and my granddaughter stayed over the Christmas holiday. Although it was a difficult time for us, we felt such a peace and tranquility at the Sherman. Jim & Donna made us feel as though we were among family. They are so welcoming and always accommodating. I highly recommend a stay in this beautiful place and with these wonderful people.

The most unique place I’ve ever stayed at: an old school converted into a bed and breakfast. Owners are very nice and knowledgeable about the town history. Rooms are spacious and the breakfast excellent.

Wonderful place located in an old school. Each classroom is your room. So it’s spacious. Beautifully decorated with antiques and memorabilia. Each room has its own theme. Lost of extras like coffee tea and ice avlible every room has a fridge and lots of books. You can curl up with a book from their extensive library of rare and old books that you can read while your there. The breakfast is amazing with warm maple syrup, French toast, assorted berries, juice and coffee. Such wonderful hosts who take pride and enjoy sharing their place. Hope to pass through Ogdensburg again it’s a gem!

Visit to Ogdensburg
Loved this inn! The owner gave us an informative tour of this historic inn that was formerly a school. Some of the school features have been kept intact while the rooms have been completely refurbished to provide very large and comfortable guest rooms. The service was wonderful and breakfast was wonderful too! We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Ogdensburg!

From the moment we entered the Inn, we were greeted by our host Jim, and given a tour of all of the rooms, and the history associated with each room. It was fascinating! Our hosts Jim and Donna were friendly and gracious. The breakfast was delicious!! And our room was incredibly spacious and comfortable. We will definitely stay here when we are in this area. Sherman Inn is an old historic school house. The suites were huge well decorated beds were very comfortable Jim and Anna Reagan, who are the owners were friendly knowledgeable the breakfast they provided was fantastic. Very tasty. When we first arrived, Jim gave us a tour of the whole building, and told us all the history of the town and the building. We really enjoyed our stay if we’re ever vacationing in that area again we will definitely book there again and Jim and Donna Reagan were excellent hosts

The Sherman Inn is one of the most unique (in the very best way possible) places we’ve stayed in. Our host Jim was super friendly and was very accommodating when we arrived late and asked for a historical tour of the Inn. Our room was massive and very clean, We felt right at home. What wasn't unique about this property? Starting with a fun history tour of the property we made our way to our delightfully eccentric and comfortable room. We got some takeout and dined in with a movie. The shared kitchen offered us plates, cutlery, glasses etc to make it all very easy and environmentally friendly. The room was dark and quiet and we slept soundly. In the morning we had a generous and delicious breakfast with the other travellers in a lovely breakfast room.
