Such a cute place to stay and everyone who works there was super friendly and helpful. I love that you can walk so quickly to the small shops and stores right across from the hotel.

Loved the area and staff. Room was super clean and spacious. But the bed was terrible. Very uncomfortable. Noisy, squeaky mattress when moving and you could feel the springs when laying down. But the overall experience was awesome.

Door locks were old and need to be replaced. Ours almost came off in my hand and I had to borrow a screwdriver from the office to tighten. It took 10-15 turns of the key to unlock it to get into the room. The toilet ran the whole time we were there and the top of the TV cabinet hasn't been cleaned in weeks.You could hear EVERY movement from our neighbors above which didn't make for a relaxing time. Probably won't be staying at this location again.

A realtively inexpensive room near the Sonoma coast. It was very clean, but also old and not well-maintained. Refrigerator and one lighting circuit did not work. The steep and narrow driveway is not lighted. However, the room was very clean and had a decent bed and a fairly new shower stall with plenty of room and hot water.

Home away from home
The hotel was comfortable but what really stands out was Ryder, the receptionist. He went above and beyond to make sure our stay was as comfortable as it could be. He even brought his own herbal tea from home for us. We are extremely grateful for his hospitality.

Beds were really comfortable, there was no host, key under Matt to get in, no information in room for breakfast lunch or dinners in surrounding areas. No signing documents for arriving.

The lodge was in a great location, very clean, but a bit old-school casual/funky. We were visiting relatives in town, so we appreciated a place with very basic amenities, thus the rates are very reasonable. Although the facilities display that the owners are engaged in cost saving, all the basics are supplied, and the rooms are very clean (that's a big one for me). We appreciated the cost saving, we got exactly what we wanted.

Nice stay at no frills motel. Office was closed when we checked in at 4:00.There were no employees on the premises, but the motel contacted me and let me know the key would be under the mat. We had 2 poolside rooms. Basic rooms that had been renovated and were nice for a motel. Bed was decent, tv was small. There was no remote for the tv which was a bummer since there was no one on the premises to get another remote. Overall, we would stay here again if the price was right.

The Occidental Lodge is quaint, quiet, and in a beautiful environment. The rooms are cozy, large, and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It’s also very walkable to the stores and restaurants in the little downtown square.

The place is fine, you get what you pay for I guess. But it was so loud, whether its the people coming back from a night on the town, to the paper thin ceiling (person above me was SO LOUD, to the ridiculously loud wall heater. I had to turn off the heat at 1am because it was absurdly loud. There had to be something broken woth that heater because theres no way it's supposed to be that loud. The beds were clean and comfortable though.

Beautiful town. Beds were comfortable. Nice restaurants and stores within walking distance. Down side was the bathroom fans are obnoxiously loud. I could hear the upstairs turn them on and could hear them go to the bathroom. Ugh. Definitely would stay here again.
