Mittelprächtig, entspricht dem lokalen Preisgefüge
Erstaunlich unfreundlicher Empfang durch Rezeptionisten, andere Rezeptionistin sehr freundlich. Hotel ist nicht grausig, aber auch nicht toll, der Preis wirkt im Vergleich zu anderen Gegenden sehr hoch, für Oakland / Bay Area entspricht er dem Üblichen für diese Kategorie. Frühstück "continental", also nicht viel erwarten.

Tolle Anbindung, schlechte Umgebung
Das Hotel ist eigentlich recht gut. Es liegt in direkter Nähe zur BART und man erreicht in nur 2 Stationen San Francisco. Die Zimmerausstattung ist gut und ausreichend aber die Zimmer relativ klein. Das Bett wackelt leider bei jeder Bewegung des Partners, ist aber relativ bequem. Das Frühstück ist tatsächlich minimalistisch und besteht aus 2 Sorten Müsli, Äpfeln, Kaffee und Orangensaft, Joghurt und Toast bzw Blaubeer-Bagles. Leider ist das Gebiet um das Hotel nicht besonders zu empfehlen, vor allem nicht nach Einbruch der Dunkelheit. Sehr viele Obdachlose. Vor allem das Chinatown von Oakland (das von San Francisco ist super!) sollte man meiden.

I was terribly disappointed by the Washington Inn. The website indicates a charming old hotel with a restaurant, however in fact the restaurant is closed and the facility is old and in disrepair (patches in the carpet, doors from closet missing, scuffs all along the baseboards in the hallway). The bones of this place are amazing, however it is massively un-cared for. The staff were pleasant and helpful enough, though there was only ever one person on site. Breakfast was a coffee pump with dixie cups and muffins wrapped in plastic. The room smelled funny too (like industrial cleaner of some unrecognized variety). I ended up at the Graduate Berkeley for the same price and it was beyond charming with an awesome restaurant (Harry's) and a great cafe (Pointdexters), both which we received free drinks at as part of our stay. Amazing!

The room smelt like a chain-smoker lived there. The window had no screen and opened to a small walkable space. We figured that by opening the window the smoke smell would be surpassed by fresh air. Welp that was not the case! Someone was smoking there and it all went into our room. The a/c barely worked, barely slept, and walls are paper thin. Our shower was clogged and overflowed. There was hair all over the shower and bathroom floor. Stay away from room 211, left with chest pain and burnt nasal passages from inhaling smoke all night. The second room we got, smelled like old mildew from the humidity in the room. Place is awful! Only convenient thing was the parking.

No hotel parking. Paid the hotel $25/day to park at the convention center (or risk getting car smashed up on the street). Had to go to the desk and get the long term parking pass each time we wanted to go out. Not terribly convenient nor the end of the world.

The Washington Inn is a hidden gem in downtown Oakland. The four-story building stands alone, but it is easy to miss across the street from the Oakland Convention Center. The dark, wood-panelled lobby is straight out of the 70s. The building and its tiny but functional elevator seem to be straight out of 1920. The rooms, however, are modern, sizeable, comfortable and well-appointed, including quality linens. Everything, top to bottom, is well-maintained and assiduously clean. The included continental breakfast comprised cereals, packaged pastries, bagels and yogurt, and was available until 9 a.m. on a Saturday. Nearby Chinatown had interesting food options, as did Swan's Market across the street. The area is a business district and many of the restaurants open only on weekdays. Oakland 12th Street BART is a block away. Jack London Square and Amtrak are a bit of a hike, but less than a mile.

From the reception, i could hear the bartender of the small bar adjacent to it, swearing aloud. Not a great welcoming! The overall condition of this small hotel was disappointing. No AC, bad smells, dusty, and overpriced!!!!

One of the grossest $100 /night hotels I've stayed at in a long time. The entire property has been left to deteriorate and the smells throughout are terrible. Seriously a gross experience.

Great location for international visitors.
It was good value for money, with breakfast included. It's proximity to the Bart station made it easy to access San Francisco city centre and cheap transport to SFO airport. It is also close to the Amtrak station.
