My wife and I stumbled upon this place on the way home from a trip to Chicago a year ago- it was such a great experience that we took our family of 5 back for a weekend trip. „The rooms at the property need to be updated. The pool was not clean. The towels are very small. However, breakfast was nice with different options available. Snacks were available for a reasonable price. It appears as though the new owners are trying to update the property. The exterior has had many updates and the interior common areas have been updated. „We had a relaxing stay at the Blue Heron. They have a nice breakfast in a cute breakfast area. The dockside bar and restaurant was very good and convenient with excellent service. We also tried out the onsite steakhouse (T-bones), great food and drinks. One of the best things about our stay was the view from our balcony. We had an upper floor facing the lake. „Overall pretty great place to stay. The breakfast was better than most hotel breakfast I’ve had. They also have a decent fitness area which I appreciated and used. The room was clean and perfect temp when we walked in. Big tv and easy to use. The only issue we seemed to notice was the tub. We only showered but the center of our tub was so concaved it was very difficult to shower. Also like no water pressure. Idk if it was just our specific room or what. Besides that great place to stay.“
