The house was clean with modern furnishings and a comfortable living space. The host communicated via the app and phone calls but did not provide instructions on how to access the door lock in advance, which led to a significant problem because the VRBO app was down when I arrived. After contacting VRBO customer service over the phone, I was able to contact the host and they were very helpful. The problem with the app wasn't the host's fault, but had I been provided written instructions prior to checking in (as I have been with other VRBOs), this could have been avoided. The property description did not mention parking, but I (wrongly) assumed there would be somewhere to park, either on the street or in the driveway. The street was permit-parking only during the day and filled up with neighborhood cars in the evening. The host told me I could park in the driveway, but the driveway had up to three different unknown vehicles at any time, making it impossible to park there. Lastly, there were workers in the basement of the house during the day making lots of noise (some sort of construction, lots of talking) and then congregating in the backyard at night with bright lights. There was no communication that other people would be occupying or working in other parts of the property.
