The property was very clean and well kept. We checked in on new year's eve and the lady at the front desk was unpleasant. She didn't greet us or even looked us in the eyes. Just felt very cold and rude for a front desk staff member. That wasn't a good start, however the rest of the staff were FABULOUS. I cannot commend the person who kept up the dining area, I think his name was Gerard (?). I've never seen anyone work so hard and was so meticulous with keep everything clean and well stocked, I was so impressed! Someone give that man a raise.
The property is brand new and well kept! It's located at the end of all of the commotion and you'll have to walk through some quiet and questionable blocks, it can feel uncomfortable at night, but during the day time, it's not so bad. I had 2 small children with me and we were able to get by safely. Public transportation is a few blocks down, I didn't feel comfortable catching the bus in that area so relied on Uber/Lyft when we needed to go far. It's within walking distance to the Frenchmen Quarters, so that was convenient. I wouldn't recommend this area with small children since there aren't many eateries that are kid friendly or convenient stores to pick up a quick bite. If you're single and looking for a quiet place to sleep and willing to walk a few blocks to Frenchmen street, this is a great option for you!
