The hotels downtown during Oktoberfest were very expensive. We chose this efficiency style apartment on the outskirts of town. It was new, comfortable, and modern. The train station was not walking distance, but very close, and a direct shot to Oktoberfest and downtown. A McDonalds, several bakeries, pubs, and a supermarket were close as well. No attendant, but leaving the key in a lock box was just fine, THAT IS ... until something was needed. There were plenty of posted contact numbers, but I turned off my cell service except WIFI. When I finally got through, by asking a local person to call, the attendant answered and promised ... but never sent out a repair person to fix the mini neon bathroom light. I actually enjoyed that the toilet was a separate room, but with the light out, we had to use the bathroom after turning on the kitchen light and leaving the door open. It was very disturbing to the partner who was trying to sleep or hang out. We tried taking the light out and finding a bulb, but could not find it anywhere. Also ... the further outside of town, the less the residents speak anything but German. I don't think I will ever get used to the two twin beds pushed together to make a single bed ... but that is true of most hotels.
Gut: Modern and clean with good wifi. I liked the bathroom set-up and the water pressure was outstanding.
Nicht so gut: No attendant at the apartment only became a problem when the mini neon bathroom light went out. We took it everywhere and could not find a replacement
Lage: McDonalds, groceries, bakeries, cafe's, pubs, and train were all close by, but nothing within reasonable walking distance.
