Sleep 7 at Fox Den Cabin, Near Lake Ouachita

A whimsical cabin on a wooded lot, 5 minutes from Lake Ouachita. Nearby are crystal mines, bike trails, boat and kayak rentals, and just a 30 minute drive to Historic Hot Springs. Enjoy the fire pit and large yard, to spot deer families and other wildlife.

Cabin has it’s own outdoor picnic area with table and chairs and fire pit overlooking the woods. Small kitchen is well equipped. Common outdoor area has small gazebo with swing.

The cabin is located on 5 acres, alongside two other cabins and quiet neighbors. Twin Creek recreation area is 3/4 miles down the road, with a boat launch and swimming area, as well as camp sites. Lake Ouachita is exceptionally clean and offers sport fishing as well as mountain bike and hiking trails. The area offers beauty year-round.
LOCALS: Locals must communicate with the host prior to booking.

CHECK-IN: Check-in time is 3pm or after. If early check-in is required, please confirm with host prior to booking using the Airbnb app messenger. If early check-in is possible, Guest agrees to pay a $25 early check-in fee for each extended hour of stay.

CHECK-OUT: Check out time is 11am. In order for the cleaner to have time to properly prepare for the next guest, we ask that guests have checked out by this time. Guests are to leave keys as required in the House Manual. Check-out is defined as all guests and personal property being completely off of the property with keys in the required location. Guest agrees to pay a $75 fine if not checked out by the specified check out time.

If late check-out is required, please confirm with host prior to booking using the Airbnb app messenger. If late check-out is approved by host, the Guest agrees to pay a $25 late check-out fee for each extended hour of stay.

MAXIMUM OCCUPANTS: Only the specific number of guests noted in the booking are allowed on premises, unless approved in writing by host/manager. If Guest exceeds the occupancy noted in the reservation, all guests and/or visitors to the Property will be immediately evicted without refund for unused days remaining. Guest also agrees to pay a charge of $100 per person/ per day for every visitor not identified by Guest in the reservation.

AGE: You must be 21 years of age or older at time of booking in order to reserve this Property. Guest confirms that he/she is older than 21.

SHOES: Guests shall remove shoes when inside home.

SMOKING FEE: Guest agrees to pay a $1,000.00/ per day Smoke Damage Cleaning Fee if any sign or smell of smoke is encountered by host/manager or cleaning crew after guest checks out. This fee will cover costs to remove odors from the home, and lost revenue during cleaning.

PETS: There are to be no pets on the Property - except with prior written authorization of host. There will be a $20 per pet fee to cover the cost of any extra cleaning, to be determined by the cleaning professional. We offer a friendly, clean space to all our guests, please help us maintain this by picking up all waste and discarding it in the outside trash bins. Please do no allow pets on the furniture. Guests who bring a pet or pets without approval will be charged a $300 Pet Fee and will be immediately evicted from the Property without refund for remaining days on reservation..

EVENTS/ VENDORS: No Events. Any vendors entering the Property are prohibited.

REPORTING DAMAGE: Guest agrees to keep the Property in same condition throughout their stay. Any damage to furnishings, fixtures, or furniture or other notable conditions found upon arrival will be reported to the Host/Manager within one (1) hour of Occupancy.

DAMAGE: Guest agrees to pay any damage made by guests or their visitors to the Property and Property furnishings, fixtures, or furniture. Guest agrees to pay for any damage made by guests or visitors that exceeds the deposit amount.

ENTERING PREMISES: Host, or Host's Agent may enter the Property at any time, with no prior notice, in the event of an emergency, in order to perform necessary repairs and/or maintenance; and with 24 hours’ notice, for normal maintenance.

ITEMS LEFT BEHIND: Host shall not be liable or responsible for personal items left behind, lost or stolen. If you leave an item after checking out and wish to have it returned, message Host/ Manager as soon as possible and we will arrange for shipment. We will inform you of the shipping cost and with your approval, charge the credit card on file to cover the expense.

ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES: Illegal substances are strictly prohibited and grounds for immediate eviction from the Property. You, your guests and visitors, agree that any drug use on the Property, or using the Property for any unlawful purpose, or violation of any law or ordinance on or about the Property will immediately terminate your occupancy and be grounds for immediate eviction from the Property. You shall be liable for any and all costs incurred by Host and the refund will not be provided for the remaining balance of your stay.

LIABILITY: Host shall not be liable to Guest, its guests or invitees or any other person for any injury, loss or damage to any person or property on or about the Property. Guest shall hold Host harmless and indemnify Host from and against all loss, injury or damage occasioned by the use or misuse or abuse of any part of the Property and from or against any omission, neglect, or default of Guests, or invitees.

LOSS OF USE: Guest agrees to pay any documented loss of host income created by Guest violating house rules.

KEY REPLACEMENT: Costs to replace any lost or damaged keys is $25 per key.

FOOD: We ask guests to kindly dispose of food in the available trash can. Garbage disposal is for small food remnants only. If garbage disposal is damaged or clogged by guest, Guest agrees to be charged for a plumber’s time to un-clog or install a new garbage disposal (if needed). No eating of food in any bedroom.

CHANGING OF LOCKS: Guest shall not re-key or change out door locks/ door hardware under any circumstances.

COMPLAINTS FROM NEIGHBORS: We want all of our guests are to be respectful of neighbors, and shall keep noise to a minimum while in back or front yards. Quiet time is 10pm to 8am. Any disturbance triggering a visit by police will require immediate eviction of all guests from Property. No refund will be given for the unused portion of the guests stay.

KITCHEN ITEMS: All items in kitchen including silverware, pots/pans, spices, flatware, etc. have been counted, and any item removed from premises will be charged to the guest.

LINENS: Please be respectful of bed sheets and towels. Makeup/foundation, face medications/creams, and tanning products will stain and/or bleach linens/towels. Please avoid using regular hand/bath towels with all skin products. Guests are not to wash laundry belonging to the home in order to hide stains. Housekeeping will wash all laundry. Un-salvageable linens/bath towels will be charged to the guest.

MOVING FURNITURE: Indoor and outdoor furniture is not to be re-arranged. Dragging chairs/tables on hardwood floors will leave scratches on hardwood.

ADDITIONAL CLEANING FEES: At sole discretion of host, an additional cleaning fee of $90 can be charged if additional cleanup is required that goes above the standard cleaning.

Nice little getaway that needs a couple updates
This is a sweet little property that was perfect for our quick change of Spring Break plans. It was perfect for 3 kids, ages 10-15 and mom and dad! The location was great for hiking, fishing, crystal searching, diamond mining and a rainy day trip to Hot Springs. A couple of updates would make this stay nicer. The kitchen tools and utensils were minimal and made cooking for a family challenging. The pots and pans were broken or flaking Teflon, with the exception of 2 pans which we used all weekend. The chairs felt like we were going to fall through them at the table and the shower curtain was moldy. Again, nothing that would deter a stay but it could have been nicer with little work and little money.

Cutest little cabin!
My daughter wanted to go to Mount Ida for her 16th birthday to dig for crystals so that’s what we did! I stumbled on this cabin and fell in love with it! It’s the cutest cabin with a really cool loft that my daughter called shots on. It had everything we needed for our weekend stay. We visited Avant Mining where we dug for crystals, ate at Shack Attack, Mount Ida Cafe, went to Mountain Harbor resort where there’s a little 2 foot pool my son swam in, ate dinner there, such a cool spot! We went to the Mid Adventure Museum which was so much fun my son asked if we could come back again before we left to go back to Texas. It was a long drive but so worth it! I’d love to go back in the winter time when it’s cooler! Kristi H

Property was cute but could use a few updates. Door lock was a little tricky at times as some building shifting has occurred. Loft was too warm to use and no plug for the fan we saw. A few other minor details that we could work around but overall, good place in the perfect location for the activities we had planned.

This was our 1st experience at a rental. It was fantastic! Mr. Steve was very communicative when needed. The cabin was clean & had plenty of room for the 6 of us. We stayed for 4 wonderful nights. There was a grill, outside table, campfire with plenty of chairs, & plenty of outlets with USB plug-ins (having teens this was perfect). The lake is just a minute drive from the cabin & was such a treat for all of us. We swam, fished, & even found crystals. Our last night we had a thunderstorm that knocked out the power for just a minute & then came back on. Lots of fallen limbs, which was great for firewood, but inside the cabin we totally felt safe. If there are amenities that you need town is just 7 - 8 miles away with a grocery store, dollar general, gas station, etc. What a great location! It was so perfect that we made Mt. Ida a part of our life story by eloping!! Bring your sunscreen, bug spray & enjoy this beautiful cabin location. We highly recommend staying at one of Mr. Steve's cabins, I know we will be returning!!
