We booked our 2 bedroom, 2 bath suite months in advance. When we checked in we were told no suites were open for stays. Instead we were put in a standard hotel room. It was decent, though a little outdated. But it was not what we paid for. After a little back and forth, the manager offered us a second room "comped ". Which we actually didn't need since half our party couldn't make the trip at the last minute. However, we had already paid in full for the price of the suite, so we then requested a partial refund to cover the difference in rates. Hosteeva (3rd party through VRBO) was extremely responsive to my inquiries for assistance, though having just 1 assigned customer service agent would have been nice. The resort however was very aloof and by the time we left we still hadn't resolved it. I called the resort 3 times leaving a message for the manager and he never called me back. Not once. We did finally get a refund from Hosteeva, but given the difficulties we experienced in general we will not likely utilize the VRBO eservation site again.
