In jedem Fall zu empfehlen
Lohnt sich bei Besuch der Tetons oder Yellowstone. Hoher Komfort, schönes Zimmer, nur Kühlschrank fehlte. Parkplatz direkt vor Zimmer.

Das Motel liegt ca. 20 Minuten östlich vom Eingang zum Grand Teton Nationalpark. Es liegt eher mitten im Nichts, daher ist es von Vorteil, dass es eine eigene Tankstelle hat. Die Zimmer sind klein und einfach eingerichtet. Für ein Zimmer mit 2 Queensize Betten gibt es genau 1 Meter Kleiderstange mit 4 Bügeln. Ein bisschen sehr wenig, da es auch auf dem Fußboden keinen Platz gibt, um 4 Koffer offen zu platzieren. Es ist absolut ruhig, da man mitten in der Natur wohnt.

Es war eine tolle Übernachtung. Komfortabel, tolles Bett, Kaffeemaschine mit verschiedenem Kapseln. Einzigste Manko der Preis für das Frühstück. Abends angemessen für die Fleischqualität.

Nicht empfehlenswert
Beim Einchecken versuchte ich eine Frage zur Buchung vorzutragen. Von einer an Unfreundlichkeit nicht zu übertreffenden Person wurde mir gesagt, dass Vertrag nun mal Vertrag sei und daran festgehalten wird. Die Unterkünfte sind Blockhäuser, und dementsprechend isst auch die Ausstattung. Die 'Gardarobe' besteht aus ein paar Kleiderbügeln. Alles andere hat man im Reisegepäck. Anstelle Klimaanlage eine elektrische Heizung. Für Nachtbetrieb kann man diese nur ausschalten. Kein Kühlschrank, was für den Rundreisenden, der in der Regel auch Lebensmittel dabei hat, ein Problem ist. Im Auto soll man besser nichts lassen. Die Parkranger haben diverse Fotos von nächtlichen Zwischenfällen parat. Und ob man das fast ebenerdige Fenster in der Nacht offen lässt um angenehme Nachttemperatur zu haben, das muss dann jeder selber entscheiden. Internet vorhanden, aber völlig unbrauchbar. Uns letztendlich das Fernsehen: Das Bild bei jedem der Handvoll Programme kaum erkennbar.

OK, but nothing fancy
the rooms are more like wooden cabins, we asked for a quiet room (higher numbers at the end of the parking lot) and got room #2 at the very beginning of the lot where you hear the road and the cars going by from all the other rooms and there is noise from two cabins which are just adjacend to the room. Water pressure and temperature were bad. Carpet had stains and was a little bit worn out. A really plus were the beds. Very comfortable mattresses. In total you can stay there for 1 or 2 nights, but you also should consider staying at Jackson where there is much better quality for money and Grand Teton park is drivable from there as well.

We stayed here for two nights the week before Memorial Day 2024. The weather was very cold, with a good bit of snow. The Hatchet Resort is only a few miles from the Moran Junction Grand Teton National Park entry station, and the drive to and from was beautiful in and of itself. Our suite was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom huge, and lovely, with heated floor a welcome bonus, given the weather. The suite provides a small Keurig coffee machine with a few pods including tea and hot chocolate, but if you're a coffee drinker, you may want to bring extra coffee pods, or even your own coffee maker and coffee. We had a beautiful view of the Tetons from our window. We ate at both of the property's restaurants and all our meals were delicious, and the servers very pleasant and attentive. In fact, all the staff we encountered were very nice, and helpful. The resort also has a lovely little gift shop, with some unique items, and everything was reasonably priced. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend this resort.

Although a bit far removed from any other options in towns, we appreciated the fact that they had a restaurant which provided us a good dinner and breakfast. It is a bit rustic, but clean and comfortable.

This was a lovely property to stay at outside Grand Teton NP. Spacious room, cozy beds, on-site restaurants for meals. Dinner and breakfast were great. Really liked that we could just back the truck up near the room to unload and load our luggage. Highly recommend staying here!

My husband and I had a 2 night reservation at The Hatchet. I called the hotel at about 8:30 AM 2 days before my reservation to explain we had tested positive for Covid that same morning and we had to cancel our stay. We are 77 and were going to the Dr. that day and were willing to provide documentation to him. He was the manager. He told us we had not canceled in time. Yes it was two days before check in time, which was 4:00 PM, however, we had to have called before 12:01 AM that morning. There is no point in going into the discussion that followed except to say it ended with me saying we were trying to be responsible in not coming but it seems you would rather we come sick and expose other guests and staff. His response to me was “come right ahead” Needless to say we did not go and did not get a refund. Wow

Inviting Room and Grounds, but a Broken Faucet
We enjoyed our two-night stay. The overall ambiance of the rooms and grounds is welcoming and relaxing. The quality of the food in the restaurant and Grill was very good. However, we thought that given the high cost of lodging, the Grill breakfasts should be complimentary, and not an extra charge. Our room (#108) was comfortable, except for the sink faucet in the bathroom. It badly needs repair, and using it was akin to a wrestling match. We certainly would stay here again, in a room with a smoothly working faucet!

Rustic and Historic is a euphemism for something!
So, apparently those travelers who gave this place a great rating also follow the rule "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." Baseboard heaters didn't work, but they did provide a plug-in space heater that dried our sinuses and overheated us. The cracked tiles in the bathroom were nicely covered by a black rubber outdoor welcome mat. There was no place to hang or store garments, no chair to relax in, and very little lighting. To be fair, the breakfast served at the grill was fine; and with the exception of red-meat items running low on the dining menu, dinner was OK. We cancelled our second night, being hopeful that Hotels. com might intervene to get a least a bit of our $270 reservation back, no dice. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

When you hear someone blowing their nose Nextdoor… that is too noisy!very cute to look at.. but the interiors were shabby and towels and toiletries were really bad quality.Tiny desk chair only seating, a comfortable chair would be standard. Good for just one night, and being close to park.On a positive note,The restaurant was very good.
