This property is vintage and quaint. It is interesting how the host has chosen to appoint the home with references to the asylum's history. The kitchen is well appointed and the towels and toiletries were a nice touch. The location is convenient to the rest of Milledgeville. For the price, the property is just fine and will get the job done if you need a place to stay. However, there is a fine line between "vintage" and "run down." This property is in danger of crossing that line. The couches need replacing, the beds are incredibly creaky and uncomfortable, the bed linens are polyester and cheap--these are all immediately fixable. More significant are the state of the upstairs shower, the doorknobs that fall off in your hand, and the upstairs doors that only close with a latch. One bedroom ceiling fan is unusable as it makes a horrofic axe sharpening sound at any speed. While we were there, termites swarmed out of the back wall of the kitchen, covering the window sills and floor with their discarded wings. Not appetizing. The place needs some upgrades and upkeep, but overall the home is lovely, and the site is intriguing.
