You pull in tired. The dog hops out before you've grabbed the bags, the car door shuts, and the day goes quiet under the trees. Our 1830s cottage is an open-plan studio (0 bedrooms) with a queen four-poster bed, 1 bathroom, and room for up to 4, with Prattville and Millbrook just minutes away and a seasonal pool right beside you.

We want you to enjoy your stay! It’s likely you won’t see me during your visit, which allows you more privacy and convenience.

Millbrook is a charming town located in the central region of Alabama, which offers a perfect blend of small-town charm and modern amenities. The cottage is exclusively yours, without interruption during your stay, so relax, unwind, and make yourself at home.

The cottage and cabin share a driveway, separate from the main house and divided from it by a white picket fence. The cottage sits behind the main house, to the right of the pool. Park beside the cottage, walk through the picket fence, and the front door faces the main house — one step up, with an electronic smart lock.

We love this little cottage because it was built in the 1830s and still feels like it. Original character sits alongside updated comforts, vintage furnishings, and eclectic details we've collected over time. Sleeping, living, and dining all share one open room, so it works beautifully for couples, solo travelers, and small families (it sleeps up to 4). It's a single-level home with a private entrance, and you'll have the whole cottage to yourself. There's no hotel hallway and no room-number feeling here, just a quiet, character-filled place to settle in.

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS
• Sleeping area (open-plan, 0 separate bedrooms): queen four-poster bed with linens provided, extra pillows and blankets, and a ceiling fan overhead
• Living area: 3-seat sofa, accent chair, and a Smart TV for movie nights
• Dining area: table with seating for 4, plus a highchair for little ones
• Bathroom (1): full bathroom with a shower, a bathtub, and a toilet. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body soap are on hand.

KITCHEN & DINING
You can cook a proper meal here. The full kitchen has a refrigerator with freezer, stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee maker, plus pots and pans, dishes, silverware, and cooking basics. We've also set out wine glasses for the end of the day. Brew a pot of coffee in the morning and carry your mug outside. There's a dedicated workspace and high-speed Wi-Fi if you need to get a little work done. Air conditioning and heating keep things comfortable year-round. If you're staying a while, a washer, dryer, iron, and ironing board are ready for you.

OUTDOORS
This is where the cottage really shines. Step out to the patio and outdoor furniture, and enjoy the quiet, tree-shaded grounds for as long as you like. The pool sits right beside the cottage and has a fence around it. It's seasonal (open May 1 through September, not heated) and shared with guests in the main house and the cabin, so you may hear a little splashing on summer days. Your four-legged travel companion is welcome to explore with you, and we think they'll love it as much as you will.
