Smooth stay, exactly what we were looking for!

Super close to family activities, quiet and clean neighborhood. If we were being picky the only situation that was less than satisfactory was trash-a bit far from the property, but otherwise very clean, lovely home, great for our three kids and fit us all comfortably.

Our family had a very good overall experience. The size is just right for a family of four and the location of the house cannot be beat. It's at the entry to the resort, making it a breeze to head into town, etc while being very close to the main amenities of the mountain.The home is nicely furnished with most everything you would need.Here are some of the reasons we gave it 4 stars instead of 5:- We ran out of toilet paper and had to purchase some.- The first floor bed could be better. The frame is loud and the mattress needs to be replaced.- Lights had dead bulbs- The first floor window blinds broke off but we were able to temporarily "place" it back.- Perhaps the most annoying is that we had to take the garbage all the way up the mountain to the dump. The community has trash service, we saw it. The other vacation homes in the same cul de sac had large garbage bins on site. Making the renters bring garbage bags in their cars to a dump that is all the way up the mountain is not really acceptable.That said, we did enjoy our stay but think that providing the above information would be helpful for other renters.

Mini Getaway

This home is so beautiful and cozy! We enjoyed our stay. It was super clean and inviting. The kids enjoyed the little play nook upstairs. Not located to far within Massanutten. We really wish we could have enjoyed the deck to observe the wildlife (deer & squirrels) but Mother Nature decided we needed a heat wave. We highly recommend this home.

Lovely weekend retreat!

The walnut lodge was a super cute and comfortable home for my family and I to enjoy a weekend away. The house had everything we needed including some fun games and an easy to use grill. Plenty of towels and pillows and clean room. I feel like the bedding could’ve been a little cleaner but it did seem freshly washed. The couch/chairs were comfortable and it’s a nice neighborhood to drive through and walk around. About 15/29 minutes from skyline drive where we enjoyed the sunset and hikes. Also got to enjoy the community amenities like the pickle ball court and local jokes! Overall great stay—would come again

Very nice space, especially for the price point. A few downed trees in the back yard that could be cleaned up but didnt hinder our enjoyment! Nice quiet neighborhood with relatively dark skies to enjoy and photograph the lunar eclipse.

Mini vacation close to home

We had a great stay for the two nights we stayed. We came in from Palmyra to enjoy the James Madison University football game on Thursday night. JMU 39 coastal carolina 7! DO DUKES! 💜💛 We gave it a four only because the trash situation was not ideal. Give yourself extra time when headed home to dispose of your trash; either that or just carry it home with you. That would have been a great idea had we known before we committed to hauling it to the dumpster. Again, overall, it wasn’t amazing mini vacay at an adorable cabin. The decorating was top-notch! So pretty for a mountain home. 😀

Nice and quiet area

I recently stayed at this property with my family, and overall, our experience had its ups and downs. The house is located in a lovely gated community on a quiet dead-end street, which provided a peaceful environment perfect for relaxation. The property's decor was one of its standout features—nicely done and aesthetically pleasing, it created a welcoming atmosphere. However, despite the charming decor, we encountered a few practical issues during our stay. With a group of six adults and two kids, we found the seating arrangements to be somewhat lacking. It would have been great to have more comfortable seating options for everyone to gather and enjoy time together. Another downside was the cleanliness of the floors, which needed more attention; we expected better upkeep given the property's otherwise inviting appearance. Additionally, the mattress in all of the bedrooms were extremely uncomfortable, which made sleeping a challenge for us. In summary, while the location and decor of the property were appealing, logistical issues regarding seating and cleanliness affected our overall enjoyment. With some improvements, this could be a fantastic place for families and groups to stay in Shenandoah.

Stay near Shenandoah NP

We stayed in this home during our trip to Shenandoah National Park. The home and location were perfect. It was about a 20 minute drive to the Skyline Highway and 30-40 minutes to most of the hikes that we did. The resort was great as well. We enjoyed the pools and go karts after spending the days hiking.

Came to have a couple of days of R and R from hiking the AT. Enjoyed the home very much! We went to a nearby winery, brewery but stayed home and cooked dinner. The kitchen was very well appointed! Overall, a great house!!!!

Great getaway

We had a great time, house was clean and had all the essentials for a long weekend stay. An email sent prior to arrival with all check-in information, very easy! My only critique is both queen mattresses could use replacing, as the springs in the mattress could be felt (maybe even upgrading one of the rooms with a king). Thanks!
